I Miss Daddy

I DO NOT OWN MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC

"Mommy?"

"Yes dear?"

"I miss daddy."

"...Oh Lucky, come here."

"What's wrong Mommy?"

"I miss your daddy, too."

"Why did he have to go?"

"He was very tired and he needed his sleep. You understand, don't you little one?"

"Of course, but why isn't he back? Does he not love us anymore?"

"Oh, Lucky Star."

"I'm sorry Mommy."

"It's not your fault my little filly."

"Then who's fault is it?"

"It is no pony's fault."

"I wish daddy was still here."

"Why?"

"So I have somepony to say 'I love you' to."

"But what about me?"

"A second pony to say 'I love you' to, Mommy. No pony can replace you, because you gave me life!"

"Oh, Lucky Star."

"But I do love and miss daddy. I never got a chance to tell him."

"Well tell him."

"Now?"

"Of course."

"Where?"

"Here."

"Does he see me?"

"He sees you and loves you."

"If you say so: Daddy, I love you, why did you leave me and Mommy? We never got to celebrate any of my birthdays. You were too busy from your work and you even promised that you were going to come back and greet me 'Happy Birthday'."

"..."

"You never got to teach me how to fly a kite. You never got to read me a bedtime story. You never got to see the portrait of our family I drew at school."

"..."

"But other than those, I still love you. I know you're right here, next to me holding me and Mommy's hoof. I know that on my birthday, you'll kiss me on the cheek for a present and I know that you'll be there when I blow my candle and make a wish."

"..."

"I know that when I cry, you dry my tears and tell me everything's alright. I know that when I'm angry, you calm me down with the lullaby you sang to me when I was a newborn filly. I also know that when I've given hope, I always look up to you for help, which arrives amazingly quickly."

"..."

"Daddy, please hear me when i say, I love you. When I first saw you through my small eyes, I knew that I'd be in safe hooves. I miss the times when we laugh as a family. I miss the hugs you always give me to cheer me up. Most of all, I miss you."

"...Oh, Lucky Star."

"Mommy, please don't cry, i don't like it when you cry."

"Oh, my baby!"

"Mommy! You're squeezing me too tight!"

"Sorry my little one. I'm surprised that you haven't got your Cutie Mark yet. A filly like you should have it already."

"Really? I wish I had my Cutie Mark."

"Wish granted."

"Huh?"

"Look."

*Gasp* "My Cutie Mark! Yes, yes, yes, yes!"

From a distance, a ghostly unicorn watches the mother and daughter as they admire the little one's Cutie Mark.

"My last gift to you, my baby girl," says the unicorn,"How I miss you too, and your Mother. I love you, both, so much."

The unicorn trots toward and tries to touch the Mom's kind face, but goes through. "I miss you, my Twilight."

He turns to the child, tries to kiss her forehead, but again goes through. Tears start streaming down his ghostly face. "I love you, Lucky Star."

"I love you too, Daddy."
