Here ya go loves, just a quick little song fic I did while waiting for some of my stories to be fixed. For those who aren't following my Fb page, back around December around half of my stories were corrupted, round the end of February I got an application that's been steadily fixing them. But since my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer again I've been busy taking care of her and my brother. I'm only about 3/4 of the way done. Stories with chapters to come are Movie Mayhem, Hidden Twin, and a re-written Job Problems, so stick with me and I'll get those up as soon as I can. I love you all, and have a great day!

Oh by the way, the song is Flowers by Chris Young. And I also got an account on that line… app… thing. Just search for meyome2012 if you have ideas concerns questions or just want a new friend!

Laxus cried as he looked down, the bouquet in his hands down by his side. The cold rain beating on him as he thought of how that night should've have gone. He should've surprised her with the roses she loved so much, then taken her out to a romantic dinner out at a classy restaurant where they could've slow danced. But instead he dragged her to the bar with him, and now here he was, alone in the storm.

The salty tears stung his eyes. "Where do I start? Well, I guess I'll start with sorry it took my so long, but I've done a lot of soul searching this past year, just like you always told me I needed. I'm just sorry I didn't do it sooner. But you should be proud of me, it's been a year since I've been to a bar or even hand a drink." He coughed a chuckle. "Um you'd never believe it but… I started going to church. Even got a new suit for Sundays. It's a real nice one, too. I got the job at that factory and it's going well. Nice fat paychecks. I also," he choked up.

As a strong gust of wind forced him to his knees in front of her, her face popped into his head, "Laxus!"

He glanced to the side while he stood back up, unable to look at her, "I went by the junkyard on the way here. Old car is still there."

~Flashback~

The country music blaring from the bar, they walked to their car together. She stood close to his side lest he stumble.

"What're you doin woman?!" Laxus slurred angrily, as his wife, Candis, walked to the driver's side door.

"What does it look like? I'm driving us home!" she scowled at him, unimpressed he'd gone too far once again.

He stumbled over to her, snatching the keys from her hand. "Get in!" he ordered as he opened the door and got in.

"Laxus, please, don't do this! You're in no shape to drive!"

"Get in Candis!" he ordered again.

"Laxus!" she grabbed his arm and dropped to her knees, knowing that her dead weight might be the only way to stop him where he was. "Please let me drive!"

"Get in!" he lash out, throwing her a couple feet away. "Now!" was all he said before he slammed the door and started the car.

She rubbed her arm as she climbed in, not about to get into a fight with her drunk, muscular husband.

He weaved all over the road, Candis groaning and shaking her head. But as she looked to Laxus to ask him to pull over, she didn't see the stop sign he ran, or the 18 wheeler coming up on her side. The car was thrown, and Laxus was hit in the head, rendering him unconscious. But when he woke up in the hospital and asked for his wife, that's when he was told.

~Flashback end~

There was a lightning strike, the thunder rolled, and the rain poured down even harder.

"I'm so sorry Candis." He started crying again as he looked at the engraved letters that had haunted him for the past year. CANDIS DREYAR. "It should be me here, not you. I can't believe this is what it took." He sniffed as knelt down into the mud and placed the red roses in front of the tombstone. "But I finally brought you some flowers."
