B'Elanna was busy fixing lunch in the kitchen when she heard her two-month old son's crying coming from the baby monitor sitting nearby . She quickly stopped what she was doing and went upstairs.

Since Aiden was born, he never varied from his feeding schedule, and judging by the last time she had checked the chronometer, B'Elanna knew exactly what he wanted.

When she finished feeding Aiden, she gently wrapped him in a pail blue blanket, and rocked back and forth slowly on the rocking chair she was sitting on. "Who's a handsome boy?" she cooed to him as she stroked his soft hair. "You are." she added , pressing her finger lightly against his small nose. Aiden looked up at her a smiled. But it wasn't a normal baby smile, it was one B'Elanna had seen before. Then she remembered.

"Tom!"

Tom was in the den watching Miral play with her blocks when he heard his wife call his name. "I'll be right up!" he called back. "Come on sweety, let's go see what mommy wants." Miral held her hands out, and Tom lifted her up and carried her upstairs.

Reaching Aiden's room, Tom opened the door with his free hand, and set Miral down on the floor. "What's up?"

"Watch." B'Elanna then turned her attention back to Aiden. "Who's a handsome boy? You are." Aiden smiled again. Facing Tom, B'Elanna asked. "Recognize that smile?" Tom shrugged. "I'll give you a hint, it's named after you."

"Oh, now I see it, the old 'Tom Paris grin'"

"Bingo."

Tom walked over to his wife and son. He picked up Aiden, and cradled him in his arms. "That's my boy." he said with a huge grin on his face.
