This is just a little Drabble inspired by Xairathan's works and hot summer days. I hope you enjoy it.

Rei put on her wide-brimmed hat as she closed the door of her apartment, setting off towards Asuka's house. Despite still being early in the morning, the air was already hot and stifling. Even as a child, she had never liked the heat. An albino girl with pale skin and red eyes that contrasted with her blue hair, she was dressed in a long-sleeved blouse, skirt and boots that covered as much of her skin as possible. After a few minutes walking in the relentless heat, she arrived at Asuka's house, climbing the steps to knock on the door. A few seconds later, Asuka's mother opened the door. A short and slender woman with brown hair and blue eyes, she was dressed in a yellow shirt and white trousers.

'Hello, Rei,' she said, with a warm smile. 'Come in. Asuka's upstairs...'

'Thank you, Mrs Soryu,' Rei said.

Asuka's mother ushered inside and Rei slipped off her shoes, heading upstairs to Asuka's room.

Rei pushed open the door to Asuka's bedroom, finding the redhead lying on her bed, idly flicking through a battered magazine.

'Hello,' Rei said, as Asuka looked up.

'Hey, Wonder Girl,' she replied, tossing aside the magazine as Rei sat on the edge of the bed, smoothing down her skirt. 'I missed you...'

'It's only been two days...' Rei began, as Asuka leant in to silence her with a kiss. Rei froze for a second, as she always did, before starting to lean into the kiss. Then, there was a knock on the bedroom door.

'Asuka? I've brought some lemonade. Would you like some...?'

Reluctantly, Asuka broke the kiss and sat back, feeling her cheeks flush.

'Y...yes, mom. Thanks...' she stammered, just as her Mother opened the door, carrying two glasses of lemonade, the ice cubes inside clinking faintly against the glass. Rei sat staring at her hands that she had folded in her lap, as Asuka's mother placed the tray on the bedside table.

'There you are, dears,' she said, giving Rei a smile as she left, closing the door behind her.

Asuka picked up one of the glasses and handed it to Rei, keeping the other for herself. Rei sat back against the wall on the end of Asuka's bed, taking a sip of her lemonade, while Asuka returned to her magazine. Someday, they would need to sort things out between them, including telling Asuka's mom. For now, she was just happy to sit here in silence...
