Premonitions in dreams
Chapter one: Who?
She was surrounded. Shadows of creatures only found in horror stories back home.
Reanimated corpses.
Zombies.
She strung another arrow in her bow, the string singing as it stretched in her delightfully pure hands. A gift, it sang to her, a gift from him.
Who? She asked. The bow gave no reply, but she knew it had heard her.
A deep, sultry laugh interrupted her musings, and she spun to face her opponent.
Darkness.
"Who are you?" She said in her own sultry purr. Her lips pursed as no reply was forthcoming.
The silence stretched to deafening, only the soft groans of the undead stirring it.
"He's mine," The voice finally said, laughingly. A female, she realized. Her mouth opened and out spilled words that were not her own. "What have you done with him?" The words were spat, venom lacing her tone.
No one fooled with the Shikon Miko and got away with it. She meant business.
"You wish to see him?" She was mocking her. "Very well, look close little miko," The voice paused, and burning golden eyes met her own, silver hair spilling over to cover a face she knew could only be as exquisite as a god himself. "For this is the last time you will ever have the chance."
An evil aura enveloped her own causing her to fall to her knees in agony. "What... is this?" She gasped out, clutching her chest and clenching her bow. Her powers flared up to protect her and the aura dissipated.
Her head shot up and glowing amethyst eyes locked with a smoky ebony.
"I'll kill you." Her voice was a deep growl, almost as if she were a demon herself.
Mocking laughter met her ears. "You amuse me, miko wench. I'd love for you to see us together, once I erase every disgusting memory of you in that perfect little head of his. It's such a shame," Her voice darkened from cheerful to drenched with malice. "You won't live long enough to see it."
And then the undead demons pounced.
Kagome shot up with a gasp. Her shaking hands covered her face as she tried to calm her breathing. That dream again. . . Her hands fell to her lap as she stared out into the night, her gaze occasionally wandering over to her friends peaceful faces.
"Ma'ma?" Her head snapped up and a sleepy eyed Shippou stared back at her. He rubbed his eyes and mumbled out, "What's wrong?" She smiled and shaking her head, pulled Shippou into her lap and stroked her fingers through his hair. "Nothing hon, go back to sleep." Shippou sighed contentedly and snuggled up to her before falling asleep once more.
She gazed at the surrounding forest as a frown marred her pretty face. I wish it was nothing.
