Just for a spot of fun :D

Disclaimer: If I owned this, it obviously wouldn't be on a fanfiction site, now would it?

"I've never" stuttered Merlin from behind his mug "Out-drunk a knight of camelot!"

"And I don't think you ever will, Merlin" scoffed Arthur.

"You're one to talk!" Shot back Morgana, currently crippled with laughter "I beat you and Sir Sigmun when you were fourteen!"

"Lies! You two: as peasants, I command you not to believe a word this wench says!" the prince declared to Gwen and his servant.

Both Morgana and Arthur raised thier drinks to thier lips and took a hearty swig. Gwen, Arthur, Morgana and (especially) Merlin were all well on thier way to oblivion. Merlin had started to stutter more, Gwen seemed to be in a subdued and gligglish daze, Morgana had adopted the personality of an old knight and Arthur looked uncharacteristicaly serious about the first rubbish that sprang to thought.

The girls and servant laughed at the prince, buckling over in pain.

"Now don't look at me like that Arthur!" Morgana said with a hiccup "You owe me your life you know. I deserve a drink for that!" and, true to her word, she took another swig. Gwen giggled, and gingerly took a small sip from her glass as well, looking at a much distraught Arthur. Merlin, for his part, let out a morose groan and nearly drained his cup.

Arthur seemed as thouroughly put out as any drunk could ever hope to manage. Gwen, apparently taking pity on him, mumbled "I've never fought and killed a creature of magic".

Arthur, cheering up, took a drink, only to let his grin fall when he saw Merlin do the same. Gwen giggled a little, then closed her eyes and promtply passed out.

"Oh come on Arthur! You can't be sour in a game like this! Tell you what: I've never kissed Gwen" Morgana said, prodding the blonde with her elbow. Arthur scowled slightly, but seemed a bit more friendly.

Until Merlin's mug was brought up as well.

Both Morgana and Arthur seemed shell-shocked. Merlin, being much too far gone to care, simply stared on.

Morgana laughed, drained her cup and volunteered to turn in for the night, shaking Gwen awake and dragging her to thier tent.

Arthur looked briefly at them, then back at Merlin, sunddenly not nearly as drunk as he had been moments before.

"You... kissed.... Gwen?" he asked, utterly confused.

"If it makes you feel any better," Merling offered with a croak "she thought I had died."

Arthur seemed even more confused, but he took the comment well, and drained the last dregs of his ale. He then stood up and brushed his pants off. "Well, one thing's for sure" he said jokingly "I've never kept such dark secret as that from a friend before. Put out the fire, will you Merlin?" and with that he sauntered back to thier own tent.

Merlin sat for a moment, alone, staring into the fire. Carefully, he picked up a burning twig and, with the briefest flash of gold and the smallest whisp of a breath, blew the tiny flame free of the wood. It burned mid-air for a moment, before fizzling out. He stared darkly at Arthur's tent, before reaching over to take a swig from his crude metal cup. When he brought it to his lips, however, he found it to be empty.

Funny, that.

"Oh well".

There, just for fun.

I've been really busy lately, so I haven't update 'Always a Sorcerer' yet. The next update is going to be shamelessly short after a shamelessly long time coming. My first fic and already I'm avoiding it! D:

I'm sorry!
