Author's note: Dear God, I don't know what's wrong with me, but I am going to attempt some Star Trek here, people. -face palms-
I can't write it worth shit, but here goes.
Hope you enjoy.
.
Red hair, bright as blood and glossy as moistened lips.
Green dress, blending seamlessly with green skin.
Gaila owed her flame colored hair to a genetic mutation; not unlike humans, red hair was uncommon for Orions, who predominately had black locks.
But her wild, untamed mane flowed over her shoulders and stopped just at the smooth line of a barely seen dress.
He stared at her, and how could he not? Even on the hormone and pheromone reducers, Gaila was the most beautiful creature on this ship.
That that gorgeous body came with an equally, if not more brilliant, mind was simply unfair to the likes of him, plain as he was yet no less intelligent.
He watched as she swayed to no music dancing and laughing where no one could see her, alone and entertaining the warp cores.
She, like him, loved this ship like the Enterprise was their reason for living. No one was more important to them than this glorious beauty.
Humming along to the near-inaudible song of the engines, Gaila spun and twirled and hypnotized her unknown audience.
He needed to know where she'd gotten a dress that matched the unique color of her skin, unlike any he had ever seen.
Damn it, he just needed her.
He stepped forward, clearing his throat. "Miss Gaila, I--"
She spun towards him and grabbed his hands. "I was wondering when you would get the courage to come out and play," she said, smiling at him.
Scotty's heart lodged somewhere in the vicinity of his throat. "I was jus' wonderin' if you'd like some company," he said, nowhere near as relaxed as the Orion who'd quite neatly captured him under her spell.
"Normally, no," she said, as honest as she ever was. "But, as always, I am willing to make an exception for you, Mr. Scott."
He felt color rise to his cheeks as she guided him in her swirling, twirling, and glorious dance.
"Now that we are together, alone, and wonderfully matched," she went on, grinning at his blush, "shall we continue in our merry-making here, or run along to somewhere a little less conspicuous?"
Scotty could think of nothing better than to share his love of Gaila with the Enterprise.
"Och, m'lady," he said, clasping her hands gently in his own, stopping the mad dancing. "I think that I would much prefer to have you here, among the hearts of our lady, than anywhere else in the bloody universe, pardon my language."
Gaila smiled at him, leaning up to kiss him and whisper in his ear, "About damn time."
And they did indeed go about much merry-making.

Author's Note:
Yeah. It sucked. Especially the end. But I just love this pairing and if Gaila actually dies in the bullshit awesomeness that is cannon, I may have to go and shoot J.J. Abrams. DX
Like, in the kneecap, or something. Cuz we still all need his genius brain for more yummy Star Trek stuff. XD
Tell me if you liked it. Or hated it! :D
