I do swear,

That I'll always be there…

Through weakness and strength,

Happiness and sorrow,

For better for worse,

I will love you

With every beat of my heart.

I give my hand to you with all my heart.

Can't wait to live my life with you,

Can't wait to start.

You and I will never be apart.

My dreams came true because of you.

From this moment I have been blessed,

I live only for your happiness.

And for your love,

I'd give my last breath.

From this moment on.

Lyrics are taken from "From This Moment on" by Shania Twain and Bryan White.

They walked down the corridor, hand in hand, the Lord of Imladris and his Lady.

That very day they had wed in a ceremony to rival even the most lavish of coronations. A large glade had been cleared in the woodland surrounding the house to host the main event- even the main courtyard, with its beautiful masonry was deemed too small to comfortably hold the hundreds of guests that had arrived, not only those who had travelled from other realms, but the majority of the valley's residents had taken the wedding of their previously confirmed bachelor Lord to be a reason for celebration. Once things had been set up and final preparations made, the locals set about readying themselves for this most auspicious of occasions.

Under intertwined branches of ivy and glorious golden roses the handsome couple had stood, Elrond's nerves now calmed after Celeborn of Lórien had formally handed his daughter over. Gandalf had bound their wrists with ribbon and their hearts and fëar with ancient vows, repeated confidently. Even Elrond's oldest and closest friends could barely remember ever seeing him so happy, so when their kiss lasted longer than tradition dictated, when the newly weds lead the first dance and stole the floor, no one minded.

Now they left the party behind them, slipping away from the laughter and music to reach more private places, suited for more private things. In a bed covered with silk and lined with the softest down- their bed- she submitted to him and Elrond claimed his bride. Whispers of love and cries of passion accompanied the age old dance their bodies now demanded they follow; ebony and ivory merging, becoming one. As they held each other, trembling, in the aftermath of their joining, a lilting song drifted through the open window, causing her to blush and him to grin unabashedly. 'Twas the song celebrating the true union of two fëar, and their absence had finally been detected.
