"Mom? It's Mary" Mary said.

Annie cupped her hand over the phone receiver and smiled at Lucy, who was sitting at the kitchen table.

"It's Mary," she whispered.

Lucy smiled back. "Tell her I said 'hi'."

Annie nodded and turned back to the phone. "Hi, Mary. It's so good to here from you. And before I forget, Lucy said to tell you 'hi'."

Mary smiled to herself. "Tell her I said hi back."

Annie turned back around. "She says 'hi'."

Lucy nodded and got up. "I'm going upstairs," she told Annie.

Annie smiled again and went back to her conversation.

Mary decided to just blurt out what she had called for.

"Mom, I'm ready to move back home."

Annie's smile widened to gigantic proportions. "Oh, honey, I'm so happy. But of course I'll have to talk it over with your dad."

"I understand. Please call me when you both decide. I have to go now," Mary answered.

"All right, honey. I'll call you" Annie said and then hung up.

Lucy trotted back downstairs and opened the fridge.

Annie spun around with a happy expression on her face.

"What is it, mom?" Lucy asked.

"Your sister wants to move back home!" Annie exclaimed.

Lucy smiled. "I'm glad. I've been missing her."

Annie called Eric at the church and asked him to come home early.

"Why?" Eric asked.

"Because there's something that we need to discuss," Annie answered.

"I'm on my way" Eric said before hanging up and grabbing his coat.

"Is something wrong?" Eric asked as soon as he got through the door.

Annie beamed at him. "No, just the opposite. Everything's great! Mary wants to move back home."

Eric wrinkled his forehead and looked at her skeptically. "Are you sure?"

Annie stared at him. "What do you mean am I sure?"

Eric frowned. "Are you sure that she wants to come home?"

"Yes!"

Eric finally smiled. "Well, if she's learned something that is great!"

"So, she can come home?" Annie asked.

"Of course!" Eric exclaimed.

"I'm going to call her right now!" Annie said and immediately picked up the phone.

"Hello" Mary said into the phone.

"Hi, Mary"

"Hi, mom" Mary answered.

"Your dad and I discussed it and yes, you can move home," Annie said.

Mary smiled and lit up like a sunbeam. "Thanks, mom. I'll be home this weekend."

"All right, sweetheart. We'll see you this weekend. Goodbye" Annie said and hung up the phone with a smile on her face.
