Andromeda Black spends her whole life trying to live up to the name her parents gave her, and her whole life never being good enough for them.

For she is the Black heiress, sculpted of ivory and pearl, destined for greatness, and if anyone has to live up to their name it's her, because she was named for not just one star, or even a constellation. She was named for a galaxy and maybe her parents expected her to be stellar one day, or maybe they just expected her to follow the spiral path they'd laid out for her already.

But no matter what the reason was, stellar girls don't run away from their problems, nor do they fall for Muggleborns, and Andromeda has done just that.

Sometimes that thought chills her to her very core, because maybe she could've shined the brightest, and maybe she's thrown away a glorious future.

But, when she thinks of all she's done wrong and all she should've been, Ted leans in and kisses her and it feels something like leaving home and falling in love and Andromeda is glad that he can't hear the speed that her heart beats at.

And, in that moment, she realises that she's not running away from her problems, she's escaping a life of misery and insanity, because all of the Black's smiles are a little twisted and their laughs a little unhinged, if you look past the layers of whiskey and diamonds.

The only question hanging unsaid between them is when – when will she escape, and when will they link hands and run away from everyone that ever told them they were a disappointment.

Andromeda gazes into the sincere, kind, honest eyes of Ted Tonks, and she looks ahead with steely determination because she knows; now she knows, that he is her future.

"Today," she nods, and the stars above them align.
