There is a scream. 'Peeta' I call out. 'KATNISS' Peeta's voice is filled with pain. 'PEETA' I yell, as I get closer. 'PEETA' Only silence answers me. Then the unmistakable, shrill laugh of Foxface rings through my ears. A cannon booms. I run to Peeta's side, Finnick un able to help as I sob over Peeta's body. 'Peeta... no! Please, don't be dead.'

Prologue

There is a scream. 'Peeta?' I call out.

'KATNISS!' Peeta's voice is filled with pain. 'PEETA!' I yell, as I get closer. 'PEETA!' Only silence answers me. Then the unmistakable, shrill laugh of Foxface rings through my ears. A cannon booms. I run to Peeta's side, Finnick un able to help as I sob over Peeta's body. 'Peeta... no! Please, don't be dead.' Peeta's face flashes in the sky. 'NO! NO! PLEASE, HAVE MERCY!' I scream, to completely no one. Then, suddenly, I am floating in a pool of my own blood. Foxface's cackle calling out into the night. Then the final notes of the Anthem plays.
