A/N: Just yet another Human Nature/Family of Blood one shot that has been going around. Basically these are the thoughts that the Doctor was thinking after all that happened to him.

He had Made himself Too Human

The Doctor always loved humans, loved everything about them, and loved their ingenuity, their independence, their determination, and that rebellious side that sometimes came forward. Sometimes that could be good. Sometimes that could be bad, but the Doctor loved it.

It slightly scared him that the human side, the person he had become, had been so unwilling and scared to become himself again. But that was only too human. The human side had decided to rebel. The Doctor had been only a story, and John Smith was the reality. John Smith had balked at the idea and fought tooth and nail to stay alive. Only at the last moment, and a bit hesitantly and unwillingly had he surrendered to his ultimate fate.

The Doctor sighed; the machine he used made him too human. It had given him freewill, determination and the desire to survive. It had almost killed him. No, he would never use that machine again. In fact, he had decided to dismantle it. It was too much of a risk, what with all that humans were capable of. That little spark of being human made him so aware of the fact….that being human was not such a brilliant idea after all.
