Hello everyone! This is currently going to be my first fanfiction, so don't flame me too hard. ;)
(The dates in my story will be from March, and onward, as of last year because that is when the HD version of Twilight Princess came out.)
Disclaimer: I do not own the Legend of Zelda franchise. All I own are my OCs.

So, how should I begin… Oh! My name is Arlington Meyers, but you could call me Ari if you want. I'm sixteen, though I am turning 17 in a few days.
Today when I got home from school, my parents and older brother weren't there, as per usual, but something caught my eye. It was an envelope that had a note on it. The note says:
"Arlington Meyers,
Do not open this envelope until it is your birthday.
For what is inside has magical powers that could be devastating unless opened on the correct date.
PS: Don't let anyone see the contents of this envelope either.
Signed,
Anonymous"
I'm not a firm believer of magic, but I stuck with a gut decision and didn't open it. And, par request, I hid it in my closet. Besides, my birthday is only in three days, so I can hold off on opening it. It must be a special present, though…

Today is my 17th birthday. I don't really celebrate it that much because, to me, it doesn't seem logical… and I don't really have many friends. So, since it is a Saturday, as soon as I get up, I get the envelope from my closet. As soon as I open the top I saw a blue box, most likely signifying a Wii U game. I took it all the way out and saw a game that came out eight days ago, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. In the back of my mind, I thought about why the person said this had magic. Well, unless you count technology as magic, I don't see any magical qualities.
Seeing no magical attributes, I turned on the Wii U, popped in the disc, and clicked the icon on the Wii U menu. Immediately, I saw the start screen, let's just say it looked amazing, and clicked play. Now when I looked at it loading, I saw that it wasn't letting me pick a save file or choose names for Link or Epona. Instead all that was shown on the screen was a bunch of glyphs, probably Hylian letters.
I looked up a chart for the letters and it translated to, "Would you like to play?" and "Yes or No". I clicked yes and what I saw amazed and befuddled me. There, in front of me, was a portal! I gathered my courage and touched the screen.
