Black Tinted Glass
It's just another day…
Tamao sighs, and rolls out of bed. She forces herself to smile in a small mirror she keeps under her bed. However, it doesn't reach her dark eyes. She was lonely. Again and again she would wonder about what could have happened if things were different. Or rather, she'd wonder why she didn't care to wonder about the aforementioned. However, she already knows the reason why, and she knows no one would ever understand, truly.
Conchi and Ponchi float down beside her. The two exchange worried glances, but keep their thoughts to themselves.
"You okay, Tamao?" Conchi asks.
"Yea, you don't look too good," Ponchi nods.
"I'm okay, really," Tamao murmurs. "Don't worry about me."
I don't care that you feel differently…
She sits down on a bench and looks around. Everyone seems to be having a great time. There wasn't a single person who didn't laugh and smile. Except for her. She rarely smiled anymore. She was always lost in her thoughts, and stopped paying attention to the world around her. She wasn't seen outside her apartment unless it was of the utmost importance.
"Hey, let's go to the arcade later!" Conchi exclaims.
"Yea, great idea!" Ponchi grins.
"Go ahead, "Tamao murmurs.
"Uh, ain't you coming with us?" Ponchi frowns.
"No, maybe I'll join you another day…" Tamao comments, distantly.
"If you're sure," Conchi says, unsure.
"I'm sure," Tamao whispers.
I never want to love anyone but you…
The soft whirring of the trolley wheels on the shop floor kept pulling her from her thoughts. She supposes it's a good thing. However, she doesn't appreciate it all that much. She comes to a slow stop at the corner, and looks up at a shelf. It's full of Valentine's chocolates and big heart pillows. Tamao almost feels like taking them to the supplies aisle and throwing them into the paper shredder.
She shakes her head. "No, there's nothing here. I guess they replaced that aisle for Valentine's Day."
Suddenly, she smiles brightly. "Never mind! I can always get that another day!"
This is insanity…
She steps up onto the half wall. Her fingers lace through the high wire fence. She supposes that Ponchi and Conchi would be going crazy when they found she wasn't at the flat. She always was. She never left unless there was nothing there for her for the past five months. She stares up at the jewel-laden sky with a soft smile.
"But I understand now," Tamao murmurs shyly. "I understand that my heart won't change. You're not the type to change either. I'll love you forever, even though you could never feel that way to me. That's what I see in this world, through my black tinted glass…"
Aishiteru, eien ni…
Author's Note: Hi, I wrote another one of these, but I think this one is better. It was really easy to write. It practically wrote itself. I hope you enjoy reading this.
*Aishiteru, eien ni. Aishiteru – I love you. Eien ni – Eternally.
*Black Tinted Glass – Tell me, what colour are Tamao's eyes? I already know, but, let's see if you can understand from that.
