Klaus's first feeling when he realizes that Damon has taken the fourth coffin is one of relief. Relief that his confrontation with the original doppelganger can be held up that much longer.

His second feeling is one of anger, but it quickly turns to extreme loneliness. He has not been able to talk to her for more than a thousand years.

Klaus has always loved Charlotte. From the first time he saw her, (she had been arguing with her older brother) until the end of time, the feeling would never change. She had Katerina's fire, her lust for life, and she had Elena's loyalty and need for protecting loved ones. There was also something about Charlotte that was completely her own. Something that made her more beautiful, inside and out, then either of the doppelgangers could ever be.

They were going to get married, have a family, and grow old together. But she had had to leave for a year. When she returned, he was a vampire. Klaus didn't want anything to happen to Charlotte, so every day, without her knowledge, he would feed her his blood. That way, if she were to die, she would come back.

And then came the sacrifice. Klaus had no idea it was going to happen. Had he known, he would have taken Charlotte to the other end of the world. But he didn't know, and his mother had her used in the ritual. Sometimes when Klaus looks back, he thinks Esther choose her just to make it worse on him. He could have survived an eternity as just a vampire if she had been by his side.

But it wouldn't happen like that. When she had woken up and begun transitioning, she had told him a shocking secret. When she had had to go away, it was because she was with child. And the father had been Elijah.

Klaus had been beyond furious. In his anger he made a witch trap her in a coffin. If he had used one of the daggers she would have been permently dead. She wasn't an Original of course.

Over the years, his family would ask him who was in that coffin. As time went by, and he daggered more and more family members, the rest stopped asking. The only one who never asked was Elijah. Somehow Elijah knew who was in that coffin.

After Mikael had finally been killed, he knew he would have to wake everyone up. But then Rebekah had gone missing, and Stefan had stolen his family. And so the reunion had been postponed.

Klaus did not know what to feel about that. Honestly he didn't give much thought to it at first. He believed Stefan would cave in after a week and return his coffins, then go back Elena.

He doesn't of course, when had life ever been that easy for Klaus? Eventually though he learns where Stefan has hidden them. He is furious that the little witch was able to give them warning. He would kill them all if it didn't mean he wouldn't get the last coffin back.

The fury instantly turns to relief, and then to loneliness. One day he will be reunited with his family, and one day he will see her again.

A.N. yah, so that's who I think is in the fourth coffin. Either her or Esther. Knowing my luck though, it's someone completely different. Also, I have seen other people call the original doppelganger Charlotte, and now it feels wrong to call her something else. Sorry if you think I am stealing an idea. Reviews are of the good!

So I had to fix a couple of mistakes, and am now just reposting this. Also, I WAS RIGHT! All of my friends doubted me when I said Esther was in that coffin. HA
