The Revival of Alchemy
It was three years after the revival alchemy, the Golden Sun as Isaac lay under the autumn trees, staring through the cracks of the crimson gold leaves. It had taken everyone three years. Three years to rebuild Vale. And finally, it was done. Vale stood once more, a quiet little village, its community restored.
A wave of nostalgia passed through Isaac. How far he had traveled. What friends he had made. Piers had taken upon himself to chart the rest of the world Gia Falls had expanded into. Sheba and Ivan had decided to travel to their home town in order to learn more about their past. Mia had returned to her duty as the guardian of the Mercury Lighthouse. Thus the group had dispersed, leaving Isaac, Jenna, Felix, and Garet settled back in Vale.
"I sure missed our friends a lot."
Isaac turned his head in to see Jenna lying beside him. Her eyes were squinting at the sunlight that was seeping through the breaks in the leaves.
"I wonder how they are doing right now.' Jenna added, as if reading Isaac's mind.
"Yeah…" Isaac replied, continuing to look up.
"It's a miracle that the two of you can still be lazing around when the whole world's in a turmoil."
Isaac and Jenna immediately sat up.
"Kraden?" Isaac asked, surprised, "What are you talking about?"
"Yes, whatever do you mean?" Jenna inquired.
"Apparently," Kraden heaved a great sigh, "The Wise One's prediction came true. Currently, people all over the world are engaged in multiple conflicts in their lust for power…"
"Why?" exclaimed Isaac.
"How?" cried Jenna.
"Never mind the why and how. The important thing right now is to defend Vale."
This time Jenna and Isaac stood bolt upright, shock written across their face as Felix approached. He was clutching his right arm which looked as if dipped in something shiny and scarlet.
"Felix!!" Jenna cried as she hurried to her brother's side, "Healing Aura!"
"Va-Va-Vale? The village?" Kraden stuttered, unsure, "But how can this be?!"
"They want the power of the Golden Sun," explained Felix, "Since Vale was the place where the four beckons converged; they figure that this is the heart of alchemy they had been searching for."
Jenna gasped, "What in the world…"
"A small group of army is already near the entrance of Vale," Felix continued, "We need help fighting them back!"
This statement was met with silence from everyone as they absorbed the shock. Finally, Isaac broke the silence.
"Mom," he said quickly, readying his gears, "Garet, and the rest of the villagers. What about them? Are they alright?"
"Garet is currently right now holding the invaders back, so as the rest of the villagers who can use psyenergy. As for your mom and the rest, they are in the middle of evacuation," Felix hurried, "We must make haste!"
"Yes, let's go," Isaac said as the four of them hurried towards the village's entrance.
