One day the team was sitting in the bullpen working on paperwork. Well, everyone but Deeks was working on paperwork. He was sitting at his desk doing anything but paperwork. Kensi looks up when she feels something hit her in the head. She sees a wad of paper on her desk, and glares at her partner sitting across from her. He grins and holds up a piece of paper that reads, "Hi, Fern!" in big letters. She quickly writes something on the wad and throws it back at him.
He laughs silently as he reads, "1, don't call me 'Fern'. 2, stop being such a child. 3, shouldn't you be doing the paperwork that was due a month ago?"
Deeks quickly jots his reply and sends it back Kensi's way. "I finished my paperwork an hour ago and I get childish when I'm bored. Fern." His smirk only grows larger when he sees anger and frustration written clearly on her face.
She scrawls something angrily and he can barely contain the laughter at her words. "YOU ARE CHILDISH ALL OF THE FLIPPING TIME! And if you're done, why don't you just GO HOME!"
She sighs at his response, "I can't."
"Why, pray tell, can't you?"
"Because we rode together."
"Go home anyway. I'll get Callen or Sam to bring me over later."
"But if I do that, I'll have to wait to see your pretty face again "
Kensi smiles at his sweet and slightly over the top complaint and writes back, "Then why don't you go up to ops and see what Eric and Nell are doing?"
"Because, I'm still trying to forget what happened the last time I went to see what they were doing."
"Oh yeah. Well, if you would let me concentrate, I could finish, and we could go homeā¦"
"And do you have plans once we get there?"
"I might ;)"
"Shutting up."
Kensi laughed out loud and Deeks did the same thing when he read her reply, "Thank God. It's a miracle!" Callen and Sam just stared at them.
After another hour of paperwork, or, in Deeks' case, occupying himself with a video game, they were finally ready to pack up and go home. After tossing a quick goodbye to the guys they got in the car. Deeks gave her a light kiss on the lips and said, "Let's go home Wonder Woman." She laughed and pulled out of the parking lot. When they got home, neither of them were bored all night.
