"Ginny, no! Stop" I say as I fight against the red-head's surprisingly strong grip. She doesn't say answer and continues to drag me out of my dorm room "Please, Ginny? I've changed my mind!"
"Neville Longbottem!" Ginny quickly whips her head around. Her hair flies out behind her and she stares me down, her nose less than an inch away from mine. "You are going." She looks me in the eyes and stares me down until my confidence falters and I look down. She turns away and starts pulling me along again.
"Ginny, what if I get caught?" I say, desperately trying to reason with her.
"The Carrows don't even know about the Room of Requirements." She says simply. We've reached the common room. The door is slightly ajar. Ginny turns around again and tries to quiet me, but I don't really pay attention.
"Yes, but they know about all the hallways to the room!"
"Shut up!" Then I realize how loud we had been talking. Ginny carefully sticks her head out the door and looks around. Generally you were safe in Gryffindor tower, but you never know who to trust anymore. She sighs with relief, though, and I look to see why. The only person who is still up in the common room is Collin Creevy. He's so desperately in love with Ginny and loyal to Harry that he would never say anything.
We walk next to each other through the common room towards the portrait hole.
"Are you sure I should, Ginny?" I ask quietly. She leans against the wall.
"You know, Hannah is risking the same thing you are." She says, much quieter than before. "The least you can do is man-up and meet your girlfriend in the stupid Room." After a few seconds she softens. "Neville… you're one of my best friends. I won't let you lose this chance." She smiles at me. I smile back, silently cursing her Weasley charm.
"Okay… Thanks, Gin." I say. She kisses me on the cheek.
"Good luck," she says as I walk out of the portrait hole. The only thing I can think about is how the spot where she kissed me tingles and it sucks being the best friend. Oh well. At least I have Hannah.
