AN: This is probably the shortest one-shot I've ever written. I deleted another one-shot and wrote this in that ones place. I know it's a bit pointless, but I loved Goldenflower and thought she deserved more than Tigerstar. But the Erins thought otherwise. So here it is, Golden.
Golden
She loved him. Truly she did. The kits that she bore were his, and she loved him because of them. Yet there were rumors going around...rumors that he'd taken a mate from outside the Clans.
She refused to believe it at first. She thought that ignoring the rumors would make them go away. Oh how she longed for the days when she would feel the warmth of his fur, and the longing in his amber eyes...Those days were long gone. Back when the Clan had believed that he was just trying to defend them.
He'd abandoned the Clan, and eventually became the leader of ShadowClan.
He'd betrayed her, and left her for another cat he didn't care about.
Yet for all the hurt and suffering he'd brought upon the Clan, she forgave him. His kits were the future of ThunderClan. His kits brought her hope that he would be forgotten.
One day...she closed her eyes as she thought of the possible outlook of her kits. One day, they will lead ThunderClan through times of prosper.
Hope was the one thing that kept her going, despite what he did to the Clans. She knew that he had turned his back on the warrior code and StarClan. But that wouldn't stop her from loving him. It wouldn't stop her from the longing she felt each time she thought of his amber eyes.
Watching the kits that she'd given birth to had helped her through the dark times. One had chosen to join ShadowClan, while the other became the deputy of ThunderClan.
It made her proud that her son had become the deputy. It made her wonder if his father felt the same amount of pride. It made her feel...golden.
AN: Yeah, like I said, it was completely random. It's kind of scary though that I'm better at writing angsty characters than happy, go-lucky ones Oo
