Aim

'Hold your gun straight and you shall never stray from the righteous path.'

He was trembling unable to look me in the eye. He was weak, why did he believe he could survive in this world?

'Never let your enemies survive your attack. If he does he will come back to kill you another day.'

He lowered his gun, tears threatening falling from his eyes. He let his emotions dance on his sleeve. "Coward!" He flinched as my voice rang off the ruins around us. "Traitor!"

'Death cannot be stop nor can it be prolonged.'

He knew what was going to happen; He knew he was going to die here by my hands. He understood we were no longer brothers. Loyalties were chosen and he chose the losing side. "Why?" He looked confused, "Why would you betray us for…why?" He raised his gun level with mine.

'Remain loyal to your cause, to me and you never fall from the grace of god.'

Our eyes locked and time pasted without fail. He mouthed something as his tears fell; he mouthed it again and again. I couldn't understand him. He wasn't loud enough, he was never loud enough. He moved his aim from me to himself. I ran forward, fingers outstretched, fear stabbing at my heart; the reverb deafened the silence and time slowed as he fell. His blood was splattered across my cheek. "MATTHEW!"

'Hold your gun straight and true; you must remember to stay on your chosen path.'

The pure determination sparkled in his eyes, I couldn't fight against him. I looked away, knowing it showed my love for him. I couldn't risk losing you. I wouldn't.

'Kill those who attack you, but killing without mercy is much worse than the act itself.'

Tears stung at the back of my eyes, I'm terrified. He looked so angry, so disappointed at the world. "Coward!" I flinched he didn't know why I was acting this way. His voice echoed around us. "Traitor!" Tears were almost overflowing my eyes. 'He doesn't understand. He doesn't know why.'

'Death is a part of life. Everything revolves around death, so there's nothing to fear. You become a better man if you accept it.'

I could feel that only one would be alive for tomorrow's sunrise. I knew if I could choose he would. I hope you know I love you brother. I'm only fighting to protect you.Our loyalties are different but I would always fight for you. "Why! Why would you betray us for…" he stumbled over his thoughts. "Why!" I am so tired, but this has to end. I aimed my gun.

'Always think rationally before you act. Ask yourself: is this for me or someone I love?'

I didn't get to decide, he did it for me. I didn't want this, I never did. But they decided that I was to be your enemy to make you loyal, to make you into something greater. It was for you so I accepted without a fight, it was because of you. Our gazes were locked, if only I could tell you but I can't. I made my decision. I am refusing to be used as a weapon against you anymore, I've decide to protect you the only way I have left. "I love you. I love you. I love you." He couldn't hear me I saw that in his confusion. I raised my aim to my temple, realization hit him hard. He began running; his fingers attempting to reach me before I carried out my plan. I pulled the trigger before he could.
