My very first Bleach drabble and story on FF. It's a little short, but I hope it's entertaining!
(Oh, and sadly, I don't own Bleach or any of its characters.)
"A beautiful night."
The former fifth captain turned his attention from the barred window to his fox-faced counterpart. "Wouldn't you say, Gin?"
The spoken to sat quietly at the opposite end of the long marble table, head resting lazily in the palm of his hand, hot cup of herbal tea in the other.
"O'course, Aizen-taichou, though, itsa' bit too quiet, dontcha' think?" The edges of his perpetual grin fell slightly, if only from sheer boredom.
"Don't you enjoy some tranquility every now and then?" Asked the elder of the two as he took a quick sip of tea from his own cup, raising a hand to tousle strands of dark brown hair. "Even I, the great Aizen-sama, need a break."
Gin shrugged a slender shoulder. "Eh, s'aright. Just borin', that's all."
"Then what do you suppose we do to liven things up for you, Gin?"
"Yer the one who's always schemin' somethin' or another. Think of somethin'."
"Must I?"
"Sure, yer majesty."
The former rolled his copper-colored eyes.
"Well, Las Noches is in need of some reconstruction due to heavy damages that were dealt by the Espada last week." Aizen paused to take another sip of tea. "That would certainly keep you entertained."
"Make those lousy Espada do it then." The silver-haired shinigami suggested casually, as he would much rather sit idly drinking tea than lift so much as a finger, much like the man sitting across from him. "Think of somethin' else, Aizen-taichou." The former third captain propped his feet up on the table, folding his arms behind his head. "Ya' know, somethin' fun."
"Talking your way out of every undesirable situation as always." Aizen noted, smiling incredulously.
"Don't put it like that. Yer makin' me sound like a bad guy." The corners of his lips curled wickedly.
"Honestly, I sometimes wonder why I even have you around. It's not like you ever really follow my orders anyway."
"Heh, that's an easy 'un. Ya' like havin' me around just because ya' like me." Gin stated this matter-of-factly, as if it were clearly obvious. "If it weren't true, ya' would've gotten rid of me by now."
"Is that so?"
"Yep."
"Well, it's not too late, I'll have you know."
"Admit it. Ya'd get reeeeaal lonely without me, Aizen-taichou," Gin teased, infamous grin widening, "Yer not gonna find another'un quite like yerself."
"Yes," The aforementioned sighed almost regretfully, "I suppose things around here would be rather...different...without you, Gin, and..."
"And...?" The fox-faced man leaned forward, waiting with bated breath on the man's next few choice of words.
"I suppose I do appreciate your...company."
"D'aw, I like ya, too, taichou," Gin confessed shamelessly, "Yer'a pretty nice-... er, well, ya' sure are somethin'."
Aizen shot his companion a rather exasperated glare. "Don't think for one moment that I feel any differently about you. I could ha-"
"I know, I know, ya' got this whole 'evil mastermind' image to keep up, so ya' don't have to worry 'bout a thing." The fox-faced shinigami grinned and whispered, "Yer secret's safe with me."
"As if that's reassuring."
