I twisted to face the man standing behind me. Shockingly, he looked like a male version of you. Either that or you were a female version of him. His gaze locked with yours.
"Who are you?" He demanded. You raised an eyebrow,
"Who am I? I should ask the same of you." You said icily, looking him up and down. He was tall, dark, and looked like a male version of you.
"I asked you first." He countered. You eyed him.
"(Name). (Name) (Last name)." You said.
"James Anderson," He offered. "Why do you look like me?"
"Uh... No comment, because I have no answer." You said. He frowned.
"Can I see your left arm?" He asked. You gave him a weird look, that was totally out of the blue. You slowly slid your left sleeve up. You had been in a car accident several years back, and the upper bone in your left arm had been completely shattered. They hadn't been able to save it. Anthony Stark himself had invented a bionic arm for you.
His look of shock registered. Then he slid his left sleeve up, underneath was a bionic arm identical to yours.
You stared at each other for a long time.
"They can't learn that you exist." He said softly.
"Who?" You asked, "Who can't learn about my existence?"
"Hydra." He said very quietly.
"Hydra? Who or what is that?" You demanded.
"The people I work for." He said.
"I work for S.H.I.E.L.D." You said. At that he shifted uncomfortably.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.?" He asked, "I thought Captain America dismantled S.H.I.E.L.D."
"He did," you confirmed, "But, it's up and running again."
He shuddered, "I'll advise you, leave S.H.I.E.L.D., it would be very wise to do that."
"Why?" You wanted to know, "I know there was something that had happened before I joined, but it was taken care of. Wasn't it?" He shook his head.
"Partially, but it wasn't completely taken care of. I should know, I am part of that problem." His blue gaze locked with yours, "Leave S.H.I.E.L.D. That is all I ask."
"I'm supposed to leave my job because a stranger told me to?"
"Yes. If Hydra learns of you, they'll come and find you. And force you into a life similar to mine." He said.
