The Sun

The sun is what I yearn for,

While I'm locked in my earthy cell.

I'm alone.

Never able to see the light of day.

All I can see are the bars that keep me in.

All of them covered with sutras.

But there are other things keeping me in.

The chains.

Two on my wrists and one around my neck.

They sting and burn my skin,

But I fail to notice.

I'm to numb.

Partly from the cold and also from the hunger.

Hunger.

I haven't eaten for 500 years.

I no longer yearn for food.

Being stuck in here has changed me.

It's been awhile since I felt anything.

But I still call for the sun.

The sun I want to see so badly.

Will my sun ever come or will I be alone for eternity?

I start to lose myself.

On the verge of disappearing.

Then he appeared.

The man with golden blond hair and bright violet eyes.

He appeared to be glowing.

"Why have you been calling me" he asks in such a smooth voice.

"I haven't" I say to the man that resembles someone from my past.

"Well I'm here so stop calling me and let's go."

He reaches out his hand and I reach out mine.

Suddenly the chains that have been binding me disappear.

I'm free!

Free to go off with the one thing I always wanted,

The sun.
