Carlisle quickly scanned the room, all was quiet. He took one of the few moments he had to step forward and brush Bella's fringe from her face. He felt her breath against his chin, a breath filled with relief and passion.

He ran his hand down her smooth, fragile cheek bone and down to the edge of her collar bone. His icy fingers made Bella flinch, but she enjoyed it.

"I've been wanting to see you alone for so long," Carlisle hummed, "erasing you from my mind when Edward is around is so, difficult. I want to think about you all the time. Only when he's occupied my mind can really feel at ease, with you on it."

"Lucky for me, I don't have that problem." Bella replied in a hushed tone, placing her hand on his rock hard chest.

"At least I have you alone now, if for only a moment." Carlisle murmured, softly drawing an infinity mark on Bella's pink, soft skin.

"I can't help but feel guilty, for Edward." Bella said quietly after a few moments, she turned her face and looked up into the loving, dark eyes of her fiancés father.

"Edward owes me his life. I saved him, and for what? Him to have the woman I love? I am doing him a favour, standing by - watching the love of my life arrange a wedding with him." He replied, a bitter tinge on the end of his sentence.

"You know I'd rather be with you. It's always been you, Carlisle." Bella interrupted with haste. Carlisle looked down into her eyes lovingly, and gently pulled her closer, so that she was pressed right up against his chest.

Suddenly, his whole body went rigid - "Edward is returning from hunting. They're nearby."

He felt Bella grab a tighter hold of him, one leaden with panic and despair. She had only just gotten hold of him, and she had to let go so soon.

"He'll need to hunt again soon, Bella." Carlisle leant forward and whispered into her ear. "I'll make sure they'll all go out together. We will have a whole weekend alone."

The corners of Bella's mouth twitched. She raised her face and softly caressed his lips with hers, only for a moment, before leaning back and stepping out of his hold. "I'll be waiting," she said seductively, before turning and prowling away into the library.
