Nadia tryed her best not to grimace, watching the two could get tiring. Viktor let out a angry shout as her brother stepped backwards, trampling a patch of beetroot seeds with his foot. From all the years they had lived in Frieden village, Kylan had never quite mastered the skill of farming.

"Ya wee idiot! Dontcha know where to put ya foot for goodness sake!"

Viktor let out a defeated sigh, the boy was hopeless. Sure, he was a great Archer but when it came to farm work he was... something else. Nadia watched as Kylan's yellow eyes blazed with Anger. He was fed up, and she knew it.

"Yo Viktor, why not give him a bit of a break! He has been practicing for around two hours now." She called over from the old fence she was sat on. Viktor shaded his eyes as he glanced in her direction, a look of frustration covering his face.

"Fine...but ya better make improvements laddy. If your going tomorrow, then farming is what ya shall remember me by!" He patted Kylan hard on the shoulder. Kylan winced with pain, plastering a smile onto his sullen face.

Kylan walked over to his older sister, making a circular gesture with his hand against the side of his head, then pointing at Viktor. Nadia laughed, running over to hug her brother. He stumbled back as she drew him into a tight embrace. "Hey...Nadia...your kinda squishing my lungs!" He coughed out between sharp inhales. Nadia releases him, watching him take in a deep breath. Suddenly they were inturrupted.

"Well well well, would ya look at that. What a beut!" Viktor exclaimed, pointing towards the distance. They both turned, curiously. Kylan stared in awe at the wonderful sunset before him. It was a grand mixture of red and yellow, glittering and sparkling in the distance. This would probably be the last sunset that they would see together. He quickly pushed the thought out of his head, looking around anxiously.

Many familys had gathered, hugging and crying. Children under the age of 9 saying goodbye to their older siblings. Players in question were very diffrent from eachother. There was no 'normal look' in they're world. Nadia glanced at the multicoloured array of hair or clothing choice littering Frieden. Every Player was unique. Special. Nadia looked back at Viktor, she wondered what he was thinking about all of this. The last day she would see him. He had a sad look about him and his eyes were heavy with much needed sleep, the last few weeks had not been kind to him.

Viktor stirred, noticing Nadia begin to stare at him. "C'mon kiddos, you and I both know things need ta be discussed...about tomorrow." His smile twitched, forcing it to turn into a frown. His eyes began to water as he turned away, picking up his iron pic and starting to walk quickly off towards they're house.

Viktor was always shallow around this time of the year. It saddened Kylans and Nadias hearts to watch the usually strong man, break down like this. It was Finders day tomorrow and they all knew it. The time of the year when children and teens were whisked away to go to one of the two academy's. You either went to Erbauer or kämpfer. Both of which starred in many childrens nightmares. The thought of being ripped away from your family and friends, never to return. That would send shivers down the spine of anyone.

Erbauer specialises in mind and intelligence, instead of brawn and fighting. Most people there either loved redstone, explosives, or had a lot of knowledge on a particular subject in Minecraft. If either of them got taken away, Nadia knew she would go there. She loved redstone and she never really got into fights with other players or mobs. Once you graduated from the Academy, you would join the Erbauer Regions Defence Force. There, you could think of tactics against kämpfer and begin to train properly. Often the most clever people were chosen to be spies or inventers. But she would do what she could to stay with her little brother.

Kämpfer on the other hand, loved fighting player vs player. Skilled melee combat and long-range players went there. You got to learn what to do in certain attacking situations. Where to break into the enemys base, the best biomes for battle. Sadly Nadia knew Kylan would get picked for kämpfer. He was a excellent archer, always seen with his quiver slug behind his back and he was never without the old wooden bow Viktors father had passed down to him before the Griefing wars.

Kylan waved his hand over her face, breaking her train of thought instantly. "You coming sis, we got to get ready for Finders day. Viktor says he has a new spot for us to hide. It will work out, you'll be alright." She peered down at Kylan, she could see he was lying. His eyes had misted and he had a sad smile replacing his usually cheeky grin. She swept back her light pink hair from her face with a shaky hand. Yellow eyes met. "Kylan, what...what if they find us. Y'know they have started to search all the houses. They are not just recruiting people now, they are forcing people to join." Kylan could see the upset on her face. Drawing her into another hug. He took off his leather arm guard and archery gloves. His quiver slided off his back onto the floor with a thud.

They both cried it out, holding eachother for support. Kylan burying himself into her shoulder, choking on fresh tears. Nadia had got rid of her axe on her back, so that kylan could not cut himself.

"Kylan?"

"Yeah Nadia?"

"Please...have fun at kämpfer for me."

He looked up at his sister with disbelief. If his sister was going to Erbauer, then he would surely join her. Even if it ment faking it. Because at this point...Viktors hiding spot was not promising. A world minus his sister...would not be worth living on. How sweet she was, to tell him to have fun. Ha! Fun cannot be accomplished without her beside him. She made even the most tiring moments fun...crop making, studying...they all were dreadful if done alone.

"Sis...We are partners in crime! A double act! No academy can change that. It's a fact. Cause you are my big sister! You fight for me, as I would for you. Most heroes are famous and a bit greedy, but you are a hero that never asks for more than what you already have. A true hero in my eyes!"

Kylan gazed up at his older sisters face. Her eyes were burning with pride. She had the best little 10 year old brother she could ever ask for, she would do whatever it takes to protect him. A spark of hope ignited in her fearful heart. Perhaps...some things would be alright.

Suddenly they both heard Viktors voice, calling for them to come in. He had stopped crying now, for they're sakes. He had to be strong. Crying showed weakness in his mind, but it was very hard to be a good actor at a time like this.

Kylan picked up his quiver and bow, picking Nadias iron axe off the ground and handing it to her gently. They heard the sound of Zombies groan nearby and the sound of doors being slammed shut, quickening they're pace.

They went through the door, catching their breaths. Viktor quickly closed the iron door with a lever, it slammed shut. All was silent, the zombies had probably gone to find other victims. Viktor let out a heavy sigh. He took fresh salmon out of the furnace, handing it to Nadia and Kylan. The air smelt strongly of salt.

"Eat up. Ya will need it for strength. Ya got a big day tomorrow" Viktor got out his own salmon, eating it with hesitation. He never really like fish. Always too boney.

The trio ate without talking, each with they're own thoughts on what was too come. Nadia watched Kylan fight back tears. This was going to be hard for both of them. If viktors hiding spot did not work, what would they become? Going to kämpfer and Erbauer could ruin everything. They may never get to see each other again. She felt her eyes blurr, she quickly blinked away the tears. She must stay strong...for Kylan.

"So where's this hiding spot you were talking about Viktor?" Kylan broke the deathly silence between them. Viktor finished eating his salmon in another bite.

"I will tell you later. But for now...there is something I have been meaning to tell you. I have kept it as a secret from you, for a long time. I feel like you both need to know. If you are willing to know that is." Viktor stared at the floor with a blank expression, if Nadia did not know any better, she would say he was guilty.

"Yes Viktor. I am willing to know. I am sure Kylan is aswell?" She turned to kylan, nudging his shoulder for approval. He slowly nodded his head, giving a suspicious look towards Viktor.

Viktor said nothing.

"So...what is it?" Kylan asked, getting inpatient.

"You two...are not from Frieden."

They both froze.

"After the first two years of the Griefing Wars, Nadia appeared on my doorstep. You were a wee helpless one back then. I think whoever had you lass, they could not keep ya during the war." He hung his head low with shame. He would understand if Nadia was upset with him.

"How- how long, were you going to KEEP THIS FROM ME!" Nadia walked up, shouting in the mans face. She did not care as the tears she had been holding back were now streaming down her face.

"I am sorry lass, I just could never quite break it to ya. Never the right time." He looked even more guilty, taking a step away from Nadia. She needed space.

"Wait...so that means...we are proberly not even siblings." Kylan felt pain in his chest, getting tighter. He could not breath. Nadia had always been there for him. He always thought they were siblings.

Nadia stopped glaring at Viktor, she turned her attention to Kylan. She could see he felt torn apart. Her face softened into a look of pity.

"No...Kylan. You will always be my brother. You always have been."

"Through the hard times and the good." She added.

Nadia brought him into another friendly embrace, patting his now arched back. She could feel her younger brother begin to shake underneath her from shock. The atmosphere had grown thick, not the cheery enviromemt she was used to growing up.

The thing that made this so funny to her was the constant lies Viktor had told throughout the years. He had told them, so many times- so many. That they had a mother, his wife. Her name was Willow and she had died in the Griefing wars a hero. Like many others of her kind. But now that Nadia knew...this women never died. She never even existed atall.

She let go of Kylan, giving him one last pat on the shoulder, looking past his glasses into his foggy yellow eyes and giving him a reassuring nod.

Kylan gave her a nod back, looking at Viktor in the corner of the room. Viktor was gripping the kitchens countertop for support, many tears running down his cheek and stuble. His fingers ran through his scruffy black hair with anxiousness. He was getting to old for this much drama.

He did not want to loose them. Like he lost her.

He glanced back wide-eyed at the sight of his children- adopted children, cowering before him. They had deceit written all over their faces. Kylan looked almost sorry for him, but was to shocked with what Viktor had said, to comfort the elder.

"Y'know what Viktor, I am going to bed. Show us in the morning this 'safe' hiding spot. But believe me when I say, that mabye leaving Frieden is better than staying here with you! Your full of lies, nothing else. All those years I trusted you!! No wonder you diden't like us calling you dad. You were too worried that one day karma would catch up and stab you on the back!"

With that, Nadia walked straight out of the room and disappeared down the hallway. They heard a loud slam as she shut her bedroom door, filled with rage.

For a minute the pair just looked at each other. The room reeked of the overcooked fish that Viktor had left in the furnace for anybody who wanted seconds. Obviously not such a great choice...now that he thought back on it.

"I'm not cross if your mad at me Kiddo. I deserve this. If ya want though, I can give you some pumpkin pie! You can have it, since I have caused you and your sis so much pain." He attempted to smile at the kylan. The boy was so young, probably one of the youngest to be sent to kämpfer. He really should not have to be fighting in such youth. He had a whole life ahead of him, Viktor hated them recruiting young players like Kylan.

Kylan mentally felt better at the thoughtof pumpkin pie. It's beutiful tangy taste and the way it warmed up his stomach. He needed it right now.

"Pumpkin pie please!" He asked with a grin, giving Viktor a thumbs up.

"Sure Lad!"

Viktor quickly took off the pumpkin pie from on top of the furnace and gave it Kylan. Turning away to walk towards the door.

"Oh- and Viktor?"

"Yes?" Viktor asked. Stopping and turning back to Kylan.

"If you and your wife...if you ever had one. Had kids. You would have been a great dad!" Kylan said, nibbling a edge of the pumkin pie, smiling a little.

"Aye, thank you Lad."

Viktor walked towards the corridor again but stopped, leaning his arm the doorway of the kitchen. Looking back and wiping away a happy tear.

"Thank you."

That boy sure knows how to warm ones heart, he gave him that. He would miss em.

Kylan sat there chomping away at the pumkin pie happily. He was glad he could cheer up the man atleast.

He was going to survive this madness.

With Viktor, or without.

However bad it may be.
