Hey everyone. Here is a story for Foreign Exchange: Wizarding Schools on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The task I choose to write for was task 3 which was to write about someone attending a school other than Hogwarts. (Doesn't have to be one of the other 11 schools). I choose to write about Queenie and Tina from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. So I hope you all enjoy Queenie's Sorting.
Queenie stood in the line with the other first years at Ilvermorny waiting to be had heard all about the sorting from Tina who'd been to the school a year before her. She looked out at the waiting crowd searching for Tina's face hoping that she'd be sorted into the house her sister was. Who would look out for Tina when her allergies acted up if she wasn't sorted into Thudnerbird too?
"When I call your name you will come forward and be sorted into your house," she heard the voice of the deputy headmistress. She then called out a name which Queenie didn't hear because she was to busy waving happily at Tina who she'd finally found.
"Pay attention," Tina mouthed to Queenie.
Queenie nodded and turned her attention back to the sorting where yet another student was lucky enough to be sorted into Thudnerbird. Soon her best friend Maria was being called towards the Gordian Knot. The Wampus roared and the Pukwudgie raised it's arrow for her best friend.
"You know have to make the choice which house you want to go into," Maria was informed as the deputy headmistress turned to her. "What will it be, Miss Hernadez?"
"I choose Pukwudgie," Maria announced to the assembled crowd.
What? Queenie thought dimly. Hadn't they promised that they'd both be in the same house? Hadn't they said that house was going to be Thunderbird? Why did her best friend have to make her choose between the two house?
"Queenie Goldstein," came the voice that would change her life forever.
She timidly walked forward which was something new for the usually outgoing Queenie. She looked down at the Gordian Knot praying that only one of the house macots would want her. But like most things in Queenie's life this didn't go according to plan either. She saw the Pukwudgie raise it arrow and beating wings of the Thunderbird.
Pooh, she thought as the choice was now placed in her hands. She looked out in the crowd to find Tina who was smiling at her encouragingly. Maybe they'd both be alright if she chose to Thunderbird. But maybe it'd be better for her to go to Pukwudgie. She wouldn't be compared to Tina on a daily basis which she didn't like at home.
"What do I do?" she mouthed to Tina.
"Go with your heart," Tina mouthed back.
Her heart was telling her to go with something new. But she was so scared that Tina would take it the wrong way. But then again Tina had told her to follow her heart. Hadn't she?
"I choose Pukwudgie," she announced to gathered students. Walking over to the cheering table and taking seat next to her best friend Maria. She looked over towards where Tina was sitting with a huge smile on her face.
"Good job," Tina mouthed as she waved at Queenie.
"Thank you," Queenie mouthed back as she turned back to her dinner. This was going to be an interesting year.
I hope you all enjoyed Queenie's sorting. I actually find myself liking to write about the new characters introduced in The Fantastic Beasts series. They bring a new interesting point of view to things.
