It wasn't fair.

It wasn't fair that Rachel loved that idiot Finn instead of her. It wasn't fair that Kurt was the one Rachel went to when she needed a friend. It wasn't fair that Rachel left her, opting instead to go off to New York, off to NYADA, where she would probably get swept off her feet by a dancer, or someone equally as stupid who would never really care about her. At least, not like Quinn did.

Then Quinn met Marley.

Marley was perfect. She was beautiful, she could sing and dance, and she was a bit of a pushover. She was the new Rachel Berry.

Quinn chose Marley to be her new other half.

The best part about it all was that Marley chose her, too. Marley would do what Rachel Berry hadn't, and that was that Marley would need her. She needed her to be her rock, to be her source of everlasting affection, and Quinn eagerly stepped up to the plate.

Quinn played the role of caring lover and advice giver well. Whenever Marley had any problems, Quinn was always there to make her feel better, and to help her sort things out.

After a while, Quinn began to have real feelings for Marley, to really care for her. She might even have said she loved her. And they worked like that, with Marley needing Quinn, and Quinn being there for her.

Quinn held on tight. It would simply be too painful to lose the younger girl. After all, she had already let go of Rachel once, how could she possibly do it again?
