Mara Jaffray was not a happy person. Despite the fact that she had straight A grades, was the Student Rep and had a great boyfriend, she really was not happy.

She was sure that all her sadness started when she was ignored by Patricia and she started hanging out with Nina, Fabian and Amber. They formed some closely-knit cult of wahatever.

Next was when she became friends with Jerome., and then lost him because she ditched him for Mick. Admittedly, she enjoyed playing chess and getting to know Jerome more. S wonders what could have happened to their friendship if Mara didn't leave him.

Next was when Amber slapped her and she really felt their friendship end. Until now, even after a really long time, they still rarely talk to each other.

The moment that she really felt her heart plummet was when she caught Mick cheating on her. With Joy. Mara and Joy were actually good friends and before, Mara confessed to her that she had a crush on Mick. Joy never showed any interest so Mara really never expected this.

Patricia warned her. Jerome warned her. They both warned her that Mick was only trouble form the very biginning.

She should have listened to them. Goodness, she should have thought about everything before she let her girly hormones take over her mind and body. She should have compared what they had in common and she shouldn't have listened to Amber's stupid numerology nonsense.

Since she's lost all of her friends already, what has she been doing the past few days.? Aside from studying, she's been moping around the attic, her new room, crying her eyes out and doing nothing.

Everyone has left her. Patricia's with her little group talking to each other in hushed tones and looking all suspicious. Jerome is either looking at her sympathetically or glaring at Mick intensely. Amber never talks to her. Mick and Joy are being a really mushy couple, but Mara could care less.

The only person who still talks to her was Jerome. He tries his best to make her laugh and her really is her only friend right now. She knows Jerome had a rough childhood and she feels really special because she's the only one whou knows about it.

When she say Mick snogging with Joy, she ran immediately to her room because she knew the tears would come out. Jerome was her and chase after her. Before she could close the door and stop anyone from coming in to talk to her, Jerome slipped in to comfort her. He basically just hugged her and let her cry on his shirt. Even thought she could barely hear anything but her sobbing, she was sure that she heard Jerome saying, again and agin:

"I'm her, Mara. I'm here. I'm here for you, I'll always be here for you."

And that's when she knew who her real friends were. That's when she realized who really cared for her.

"I will always be here for you."
