A/N: I do not own Kermit the Frog, who sings the Rainbow Connection, and I
also don't own the song. JKR owns Hogwarts, and everything in there, except
for the stuff I created. And if you want to take my stuff, you better ask
me! So MUAHAHAHAHA!
Rachel looked out of the foggy glass. It had just stopped raining, and the ground was that incredible green that occurs after summer storms, and the sun was peaking through.
"Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me."
Bright beams of light gently spread themselves across the field, making the drops on the grass sparkle. It was so beautiful. Rachel gently moved herself away from the wet window and away from the shining field.
"Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that
and someone believed it,
and look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing?
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me."
She ran down the halls, not even caring to put on shoes or a cloak over her clothes.
"All of us under its spell,
we know that it's probably magic...."
Rachel reached the door, and pushed it open. She was the only one out there, because everyone had gone it when it had begun to rain.
"Have you been half asleep
and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.
La, la la, La, la la la, La Laa, la la, La, La la laaaaaaa"
If you looked out onto the Quidditch field that, after the short summer storm, you would have seen one lone figure, dancing barefoot, in the grass.
