''Again?'' Mavis sighed loudly, startling her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog, Zera. She had named her after her old childhood friend that had -unfortunately- died during a house fire. ''I swear to god, the mailman's doing it on purpose now!'' The blonde exclaimed, walking to the kitchen and throwing the letters and package on the counter.

For a few weeks now, she had been receiving letters that was meant for her neighbour, Zeref Dragneel, but the mailman kept messing up their adress so Mavis always got his packages. She never opened them, but now- her curiousty was getting the best of her.

She got herself a glass of water before returning to the counter, Zera following at her feet. ''I feel bad opening this,'' Mavis mumbled, picking up an envelope and looking at it warily.

She sighed before ripping it open, a twing of regret bubbling in her stomach.

She pulled out a peice of paper and unfolded it.

Yo, Zeref!

I know your mad, but c'mon, I didn't mean to crash the car. You knew it was an accident!

Stupid ice bastard kept making me distracted.

So could you like, I don't know, start writing back to me? I lost your contact on my phone and Happy's not giving me the best company, y'know.

Since you're probably still mad at me, Ice dick and Metal face made me give you a gift. They thought you might like it, since your emo and shit and like ghosts, so yea.

I honestly think it's a load of bullcrap, but hope you enjoy it anyways (question mark?)

-Uh, sincerely your younger bro Natsu

(P.S: Please start writing back)

Mavis looked at the letter and read it over.

So Zeref had a brother, and his name was Natsu Dragneel. It had a nice ring to it, she decided. ''A gift?'' Mavis titled her head before looking at the package. ''Should I..?'' She mumbled, taking it in her hands.

''Yep, I should.'' The blonde sighed, already opening it. Damn her curiousity.

She pulled out a hardcover book that was dark grey with small black symbols. Green eyes scanned the cover before they landed on the title.

Satanic Rituals

''What the heck?'' Mavis raised an eyebrow, taking a step back. ''Opening this was a bad idea, good job Mav!'' She exclaimed, slapping her cheeks a couple of times before sighing.

She looked down and examined her clothes. A pink tank top and light blue ripped jean shorts. She had lavender socks with white little bunnies on them.

''Might as well go give it to him..'' She mumbled, putting the book back in it's package along with the letter. She walked over to her door and put on pink coverse before walking out of her house. She made sure that Zera didn't manage to escape and follow her to Zeref's house.

Truth be told, Mavis might have a small crush on the man. Even if he was strange. They had hung out a couple of times before and became friends.

The blonde walked across her front yard over to Zeref's house. She reached his doorstep and lifted her fist but paused before knocking. 'What do I say to him?' Mavis suddenly thought, biting her lip. 'So I got your mail- again. I also opened your letter and package so haha here!'

She frowned before knocking on the red door.

''One minute!'' A voice shouted from inside. Mavis waited patiently before the door swung open to reveal the man.

He had black hair and black eyes. Zeref was wearing a dark green shirt, a denim jacket with black jeans and red converse.

''Oh, hello Mavis.'' He greeted. The blonde waved. ''Hi!'' She smiled before holding out the package. ''Here- the mailman gave me your stuff. Again.''

''Oh,'' Zeref nodded, taking it in is own hands. ''I'm starting to think he's doing it on purpo- It's opened?''

Mavis gulped nervously and played with the hem of her tank top. ''Y-yea, uhm, I might of.. looked at it. I'm so sorry though! Curiousity was killing m-''

She was cut off with a chuckle. The blonde lifted her head and black eyes bore into her green ones. ''It's fine, I don't think there was anything really personal in there. Aside from... this.'' Zeref looked at the book.

''About that?''

''Don't ask me about my brother's friends' logic, please, I honestly have no clue myself.''

Silence hung over their heads before the two adults began laughing.

''Want to come in? I'm bored and I have nothing to do this evening.'' Zeref said, stepping to the side to add to his offer.

Mavis nodded. ''Sure!'' She smiled before walking in.
