[A Sasuke Uchiha Drabble]
"Hey, can I talk to you?" _ asks quietly to the raven haired man with hollow eyes. He doesn't respond, so she sits down beside him. "I couldn't help but notice that you've been acting different lately. I thought I'd just let you know that if you wanna talk to me, I've got open ears. Sometimes all a person needs is someone to listen. And hey, if that's all you need, I'm here." He doesn't even look at her. Sighing, she nods her head and stands up. "Right, well, it was worth a try." It was when she turned to leave he finally spoke.
"I've just been thinking." She turns back around.
"Yeah, I think we all have," she breathes, sitting back down.
"I've… There are some things in my life that no one will ever understand, no one will ever know about, but it doesn't mean I…" It was amazing, _ had never before seen the strong man seem so weak, so vulnerable.
"Sasuke, listen to me," she carefully places her hand on his rigid knee. "No matter what you've done, what you've seen, what you ever do or think, you will always, always be a man. And just like every other man, you have a right to feel the way you do, think the thoughts you do, say the things you do. You have a right to be you." He stared blankly out into the still lake waters. "Never let anyone tell you otherwise. Never tell yourself otherwise. You and me, we're just alike. Just like everyone else in the world. Don't be afraid to feel things. No one will blame you…" He refuses to look at her, to speak. So she stands again. "You're a good guy, Sasuke, you're just a little lost right now. But hey, everyone is." She pats him on the back, starts back towards camp. "You're a good guy."
Sasuke just sat there, staring out into the cool waters, wishing he could believe her.
