A/N: Hi, everyone reading! This is an idea that popped into my head today, I wanted to write it and share it with you. I was extremely cheerful about the reviews I received to "Not LAX - for good" - which I consider to continue - any thoughts?
Meanwhile I hope you enjoy this (I apologize for writing errors)

-Just 2 weeks-

Sawyer came bursting in the door to find Juliet cutting carrots for a lasagna.
She expected the guys to be "home" soon, but was a bit shocked by James' entrance. She turned away from her cooking and was greeted with a wide smile.

"I did it, Juliet. I got us into the Dharma Initiatives. We are gonna get our own little dharma houses. Horace wants us to take the aptitude tests tomorrow. We can stay and look for the others as long as we want."

"Oh," was all she could let out of her mouth.

Sawyer's smiled faded alongside with her expression.

"Oh? That's all ya gotta say?" Sawyer grumbled.

"Well, it's great…but."

"But?"

"I only agreed to stay for 2 weeks, remember?" Juliet continued.

Sawyer's face tilted down as he sighed.

"Right."

"I didn't expect allowance to stay. I honestly don't know how to respond to it."

"You really wanna leave? You're gonna be all on your own out there you know."

"I've been on my own for a long time, James."

"You don't have to be. I know this place ain't ideal, but it's our only chance to get back to where we wanna be."

"And you think that's going to happen? You expect people from a blown up boat to time-travel back here to save us any minute?"

"We can't lose hope, Jules."

"There's no hope to be lost."

"Don't say that. You don't know what happened."

"Neither do you, James. And I know it's heartbreaking to lose someone you care about, but you have to face reality: the chances that any of them will appear out nowhere are pretty slim."

"Alright there, mindkiller; if ya wanna take the next sub, I ain't gonna stop ya. It's your decision."

Sawyer turned away from her to leave the house, all of them had been placed in for the last week and a half.

"James."

He turned around again.

"What?"

"Why did you ask me to stay?"

"I didn't. I just said it's your decision-"

"No, I mean…why did you ask me in the first place? 2 weeks?"

"I don't know."

"Don't lie. If that was true, I don't think you would have bothered to ask several times."

"Alright, you wanna hear the truth? When I returned to the beach that day and you nodded toward the blown up boat, I was lost with no reason to go on. Somehow you and I managed to get "the best" outta it. Not only that; we managed to survive, having each other's back and all that.
We finally made it here, where we're as secure as we can be on this damn island, and then you tell me you wanna leave because you finally got the chance. I didn't want you to leave, because you are the only damn person around here that I trust with my life. You're what kept me going since that day on the beach. I didn't wanna lose that. I still don't."

They watched each other in silence, Juliet desperately trying to form words in her head.

"I don't want to lose that either," She finally responded.

"That mean you're gonna stay?" Sawyer asked excited.

"I have to. Who else is going to have your back?" she said sincere, but with a smile hidden behind the façade.

"I have no idea," he chuckled.

He didn't know why, but he had the sudden urge to hug her.
He followed his desire, hoping it was okay due to the situation.
She was yet again surprised, as he neared her with open arms that closed behind her.
They were body against body, feeling one another's warmth, as they both leaned closer into the hug. Neither one of them had ever been more comfortable in each other's presence.
