Mac Taylor sat at home with his wife of one year Stella Bonassara Taylor, when his cell phone rang.

"Taylor" he said

"Mac, its Lindsay." His phone said.

"Hey Linds. What's wrong?"

"Its Danny. He went to the old stomping ground"

"Ok. I'll go see what's goin on. And I'll talk to him. Kay? You just go and play with my god baby."

"Ok. I'm also gonna go call Flack to."

"Ok" he hung up and looked at his wife.

"Danny went to the bar tonight. Flack and I are gonna go and see what is goin with him."

"Ok. Be careful."

Got a call last night from an old friend's wife
Said I hate to bother you
Johnny Ray fell off the wagon
He's been gone all afternoon
I know my buddy so I drove to Skully's
And found him at the bar
I say hey man, what's going on
He said I don't know where to start

Mac and Flack went to Sullivan's and walked in. People turned around and greeted the CSI and Homicide detective who had forgone the suit and tie and where in Wranglers and a t-shirt. They walked up to the bar and saw Danny with a beer.

"What's goin on Messer?" don asked his long time friend.

"I don't know Flack."

Sarah's old car's about to fall apart
And the washer quit last week
We had to put momma in the nursing home
And the baby's cutting teeth
I didn't get much work this week
And I got bills to pay

"Lindsay's car broke down yesterday. Lucy is cutten teeth. I haven't got much work these past couple of weeks and the bills is pilling up."
Mac smiled and said "I know this isn't what you want to hear but this is what I'm gonna say. Sounds like life to me."

Danny looked at Mac and got up and went to the pool table and picked up a pool stick while Mac and Don set up the table.

Danny said to Mac and Don, "You don't understand. My wife and baby girl depend on me, just me, and to top it off Lindsay just told me she is two months late."

Mac and Don smiled and looked at the bar while Don said "hey bartender set us up around we need to celebrate."

Everyone whooped and hollered when Danny said that, while Danny blushed.

"Congrates, Messer"

Well his face turned red and he shook his head
He said you don't understand
Three kids and a wife depend on me
And I'm just one man
To top it off I just found out
That Sarah's 2 months late
I said hey bartender set us up a round
We need to celebrate

"Danny life is hard but you can't just jump ship you have been to hell and back. Just think of what you and Lindsay have been though."

"I know. I just love them so much. I don't want to see them have all of this trouble."

"Yeah. I know that is why you are such a wonderful father and husband."
Don spoke up and said "Lets get you home. I'm gonna drive you."

"I didn't drink. I thought about it but I didn't."

Danny drove home and Lindsay greeted him at the door with a kiss and a hug. 7 months later Danny, Lindsay and Lucy greeted Jeremiah Matthew Messer who came in to the world weighing in at 8lb 9oz and 22 inches long.
