I've trace his brow into my mind.

I've counted every tooth in his smile.

I've memorized his every motion.

I've stared into those hazy drunken emerald eyes, wishing I could find a way to make him love me.

"Arthur?"

He turns to look at me,the blissful curiosity making me weak in the knees.

"I,um,What's up?"

He knows something is wrong,I'm not acting like an arrogant asshole.

"What's wrong"

Those two words,if only he knew how my heart was going to explode.

I run my hands through my messy blonde hair and adjust my glasses.

"I"

Stumble upon my words again.

Would he ever believe me? We are standing in his living room. A brick fire place keeps everything warm and cozy.

Typical English country house.

"I love"

Sweat rushes to my forehead,my hands shake. I take a deep breath, calm down.

"I'm sorry?"

Oh god,just say it,say it.

"I love you"

I spit out, then turned my gaze away.

"What?"

I groaned, turned, grabbed his slender arms, pulled him forward and kissed him all in one fluent motion.

The softness of his lips on mine,a warmth grew inside of me and spread like a wild-fire.

The kiss was broken and my own body was flushed with an unhealthy red color.

"I-I can't do this"

My eyes widen,my heart slowly stops.

"You...leave"

Oh,fuck. I felt the first tear fall down my face, before bolting out of the room.

I hide the ground running at the speed of light, moving as fast as the snowy ground would let me.

A branch clothes-lined me,causing me to fall into the snow,on my knees.

What made me think that he would love me,he had that french man. The one that was more educated and ethical and everything I was not.

I wrap my arms around myself,I had left my coat in Arthur's house. Not bothering to pick it up as I attempted to leave without him seeing the look of rejection on my face.

I sat there quietly. Just listening. Maybe I had deserved it,maybe I needed a reality check, maybe I'm not as amazing as I originally thought.

I hear the snow crunching behind me. I figured it was an animal so I didn't bother to turn around to check it,until I felt a pair of arm engulf me from behind.

"Idiot" Arthur said

"Wait...what,you told me to leave" I said confusion settling in

"I wanted you to fight me and stay"

A big grinned plastered on my face,I turned so that I was holding the smaller British man in my arms instead. Realizing what this meant.

He had picked me. Me! I could hardly believe it,the snow no longer seemed so cold. The wind wasn't bitter. The clouds weren't gray.

"Now,I made tea and its going to get cold"He said, pulling on my arm as he stood up.

I jumped up in a flash, scooped him in my arms and winked. Tea was not what I had in mind.
