And, with my pen, I have started another segment of fan fiction plots...
"I'm not asking you," the old man shot back. "I'm asking the ghost behind you."
Kuwabara Torajiro blinked as the news that the old man, who had so brazenly walked into the house he, Honinbo Shuusaku, was currently staying, in order to get at the house's larder, could actually see the ghost always behind him. The old man could actually see Sai.
"How...how can you see it? According to Sai, only I should be able to see him..."he lamely asked.
"Some humans can probably sense him. Other spirits can see him, after all. It's not surprising for one to recognise another of its kind."
So that means... "Who are you?" the voice of Honinbo Shuusaku asked.
The old man, who had run to the door upon seeing him crumble, looked at him and grinned. "I'm Nura Rihyon." he replied, before he jumped out into the night. Torajiro had quickly looked out, but the old man had already disappeared.
"So there are others like me..." Sai wistfully commented. "Nura Rihyon, I wonder if he haunts people too..."
"We'll ask tomorrow, Fujiwara sensei," Torajiro replied.
"Yes."
The next day, their inquiries at the local temple of Ukiyoe Town bore fruit.
"Nurarihyon, eh?" the old monk chuckled. "Ah, you're unlucky, Master Honinbo. That one would just walk in and take your food, and there's nothing you can do about that. The chi mei ou you no mushi, the master of all youkai, Nurarihyon. It's said that he lives in the area. Why are you asking?"
Torajiro was astounded that not only had he messed up the pronunciation, but that the master of all youkai had stolen from his house. "I think something stole from me, and the thief declared himself as Nurarihyon."
"Then it's him. Don't bother tracking that one done, master, you'll never get it back," the monk had laughed with a chuckle.
Torajiro already knew, that the fact that Fujiwara's identity as Honinbo Shuusaku had already been found out when Nurarihyon had asked: "Which one is Honinbo Shuusaku?"
Nurarihyon is a small youkai. Some sources place him as the leader of all youkai. Youkai are apparitions/demon/spirits, the exact translation is still up for debate.
