"So, Doctor. Doctor Who?"
The Doctor raised an eyebrow, gave a slight head tilt and curved one side of his mouth upwards.
"Never get tired of hearing that." The tall, lean man extended his hand with a broad smile plastered on his face. After a few moments, he lowered his hand back to his side and the smile faded. He leaned against the door frame, torn between taking this person back to the TARDIS, back to a life they knew once before or leaving, pretending none of it had ever happened. The Doctor turned to leave however was stopped by the sound of a new voice.
"You look sad," spoke the voice, "especially when you think that she," they gestured over to the human perched in the armchair, "can't see you." The Doctor looked at the new presence with a questionable look. What an odd remark. Sad? "Come sit down."
The human guided The Doctor by the arm to the sofa and placed a cup of tea on the table in front of him.
"You didn't answer my question," The Doctor noticed she had taken her hair down; she had not changed since the day he left. "Doctor Who?"
"If only you remembered, life among the stars, it's what you always wanted. I remember the day you told me that." The Doctor sighed, silently remembering. The look on her face when she had told him. What had happened, when did she forget? Before The Doctor could think another thought, a man dressed in a suit and long coat burst through the door, grabbed the human opposite and dragged her out before The Doctor had even realised what was going on.
Opposite him stood an empty chair where just moments ago had been the one person he had left in the universe.
Jenny.
"Who was that? Where did he take her?!" roared The Doctor. The remaining human jumped at The Doctor's outburst, a look of pure terror on their face. The human had turned milk white in the face, eyes wide and frozen. The Doctor softened his look, hoping to reassure the human that he was not angry with them.
After a few minutes, the human returned and whispered, "Molly. My name is Molly, Doctor, and that man was Jim Moriarty." The Doctor had heard the name before, heard great things of the man but never thought for one moment that he would come face to face with him.
"Molly, terribly sorry however I have to go."
"Doctor, wait!" The Doctor pivoted on his heels, "before you go, find someone. You'll need the help." The Doctor gave a quizzical look in Molly's direction before striding out of the door towards the TARDIS.
