"Things have changed for me too." Her words reverberated through his mind, bouncing this way and that. What's changed for you, Cristina? He had so wanted to touch her, wanted to grab her hand just to feel the warmth again but he resisted the urge. "I got married." What?! Every thought froze at those words. He didn't know what he was expecting to hear that certainly wasn't it. She stood there looking at him, expecting a reply, a reaction, something but all he could do was stand there and process the fact that Cristina Yang got married.

"Who's the lucky husband?" He had finally found his voice even if it had taken far longer than it should have.

"His name's Owen. He's the chief and the head of trauma." There was a look in her eyes that made something deep inside him throb with pain. She loved this Owen, more so than she ever loved him. She looked so happy and relaxed talking about her husband, unlike anything he had seen of her before. "Right now, he's taking care of our daughter." He couldn't help it, he started choking. Cristina has a daughter? Cristina has a daughter? The thought was so ridiculous and so unlike her that he was having trouble reconciling child and Cristina into the same sentence let alone a child of Cristina. Cristina on the other hand, was dealing with a short bout of internal laughter at his reaction to the revelation of her gorgeous daughter. "She's two now. She has my hair but Owen's eyes. We still have no idea how that happened. Spencer is just beautiful and she's walking. I was so happy I was there to see her first steps. Owen was pissed that he missed them. Spencer's so like Owen it's scary but that might actually be a good thing considering who I am." Burke was staring at her like she had grown five heads and three extra bodies.

"You had a daughter?" Burke sounded lost. He didn't know how to wrap his head around the fact that she had moved on and gotten married and had a family. It proved to Cristina- on the other hand- that he hadn't really known her all that well to begin with. While Cristina was laughing hysterically, Burke was having a small existential crisis along with a not so small breakdown.
