Disclamer: I don't own Newsies or this song. I only own Mercy.
They read you Cinderella
You hoped it would come true
That one day your Prince Charming
Would come rescue you
Five year old Abigail Lorenzo sat on the floor in front of the small bookshelf in her room. Her black hair pulled back in a small pony tail. "What are you going to pick Abbie?" Maria Lorenzo asked from her seat on Abbie's bed. "Cinderella mommy I want to read Cinderella but I can't find it." Abbie said still not turning from the book shelf. Maria laughed, "It's under your bed we read it last night." Abbie crawled over to the bed and pulled out the book.
Maria closed to book and said, "The end" Abbie smiled a sleepy smile. "I hope that comes true for me." Then she was asleep, a smile on her lips.
You like romantic movies
You never will forget
The way you felt when Romeo kissed Juliet
All this time that you've been waiting
You don't have to wait no more
Spot Conlon sat in the audience of there school play; his arm draped lazily over his best friend Abbie's shoulders. The play was Romeo and Juliet; Spot didn't really care but Abbie was determined to see it and get him to. He finely gave in after she looked at him with her big green pleading eyes. They were at the balcony sense; Spot was drifting off in thought again but a deep intake of breathe made him look over at Abbie.
"Are you ok?" Spot asked. Abbie nodded looking up at him, "Yeah, my heart just skipped a beat. It dose that when ever I see people kiss. I just feel almost giddy." Spot smiled at her, "You're always giddy." Spot kissed her cheek and they enjoyed the rest of the night.
I can love you like that
I would make you my world
Move Heaven and Earth if you were my girl
I will give you my heart
Be all that you need
Show you you're everything that's precious to me
If you give me a chance
I can love you like that
Abbie sat on her porch swing knees under her chin. Spot walked up to her and sat down on the swing next to her. Abbie wiped away another tear, "You want to talk?" Spot said looking up at her. "He broke up with me. I knew it wasn't going to last but it still hurts." She wiped a few more tears away as Spot pulled on her arm; moving her to lean into his chest. "I just want someone to love me like Romeo loved Juliet…or the way Prince charming loved Cinderella." Spot smiled to himself, "You know I can love you like that. Romeo made Juliet his world and Price charming gave Cinderella his heart. Well Abbie you already have my heart and you're my world. Give me a chance." Abbie looked up at him, smiled, and nodded. Spot kissed her lightly before her mom called them inside to eat dinner.
I can love you like that
I would make you my world
Move Heaven and Earth if you were my girl
I will give you my heart
Be all that you need
Show you you're everything that's precious to me
If you give me a chance
I can love you like that
You want tenderness-I got tenderness
And I see through to the heart of you
If you want a man who understands
You don't have to look very far
