Little Remus Lupin sat alone in his bedroom, doors locked, and sharp objects moved out. It was the night of the full moon. Remus didn't understand why he was in here. His parents told him that something different might happen tonight. If it didn't, he was to go to bed. If it did, well, they hadn't gotten that far before they shut him away in here. Now, he was starting to wonder if his parents were keeping that a secret from him on purpose. What could possibly be bad enough to send him away from them?
Suddenly, great waves of pain began to wrack his tiny body. He collapsed, writing with agony. "Mummy! Daddy! Help! What's happening? Please! Help me!" His bones began to lengthen and shift, he grew a snout and a tail, and before he could really truly process what he was going through, his mind went blank, and he was left at the mercy of the wolf.
