Disclaimer: Ah, if only, if only... but no, I do not own HP or the song.

This came to me while I was writing the latest chapter of 'Blaze.' It doesn't go with it though. Enjoy -smiles!-

You Raise Me Up

They twirled lightly across the dance floor. They were radiant. There was a glow about them, the onlookers noticed. But the pair knew nothing but each other for this moment.

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

They gazed into each other's eyes. Emerald green against chocolate brown. They were completely compatible, like how green and brown made a beautiful forest come together on the earth. He stepped back lithely and she twirled under the guidance of his hand. They came back together smoothly. They were meant for each other, a perfect fit.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

As their song gained momentum, so did they. Their steady waltz became quicker and fiercer. There was more power in their movements, more meaning. They kept tempo with each other perfectly. Twist, twirl, spin, dip, up again. The onlookers were amazed. They had seen nothing like this duo before. The onlookers saw the song lift them and they seemed more graceful than before, if that were even possible.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

She twirled away from his grasp and kept twirling in circles. She gracefully came to a stop, her dress still twisting around her. They looked at each other lovingly and walked to each other. Their pace was becoming slower, as was their song. They picked up the waltz again, this time slower.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

As their song ended, so did they. Their pace was winding down. It was almost over.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

They came to a stop. While the onlookers thought it was a wonderfully ending, the dancers knew... it was a perfect beginning.

I skipped a few choruses ha. But I highly recommend you listen to the song. In case you didn't guess, it's 'You Raise Me Up' by Josh Groban. You definitely get a better feel for the story if you listen to the song while reading.
