This is a collection of poems written for the Poetry Collection Competition

The challenge is this:

1. Pick a theme: theme can be a genre, character, pairing, word, or even type of poem.

2. Write five poems of any length using the theme. All five poems should be included as a complete collection.

I picked Descent into Darkness. It will portray Harry's descent into darkness, beginning as a young child and following him as he ages.

I will write five new poems, and end the collection with a poem that I have already written, which I think ties everything up nicely. So, all in all the collection will have six poems, five of them used in the competition.

Here's the first one, hope you enjoy.

Living

Mommy,

Daddy,

words never uttered.

Hugs,

kisses,

things never given.

Warmth,

love,

emotions never felt.

.

Chattering teeth and growling belly,

the only lullaby he knew.

And ghostly fingers tucking him in,

while darkness surrounded him.

.

He was five years old but knew already that living was a sin.
