Shizuo Heiwajima was walking down the street when he heard a bunch of scuffling and bangs over to the side in an alleyway. As he got closer, he heard a voice.

"So, you little faggot, why are you being silent today?" there was a pause, then the sound of paper shredding, and, finally, dull thud, "I don't give a fuck about 'Day of Silence' for faggots."

There was another pause and Shizuo got closer.

"If you're silent for the day, then you can't scream for help…"

That's it, Shizuo thought as he rounded the corner to spot 3 really big guys from his school, the one in the middle was holding a familiar raven-haired boy by his shirt's collar. Izaya's face and collarbone were black and blue from being punched, beaten, and, by the looks of the blood on him and the ground, smashed into every possible hard object. "What the fuck are you doing?" Shizuo shouted.

The boys turned, saw who it was, and their smirks returned to their faces.

"Shizuo," the one holding Izaya called, "Let's finish off this stupid little faggot. You hate him, right? Let's kill him."

Shizuo looked at the other two and saw them nodding as well. However, when he saw the pathetic, defeated look on Izaya's face, he chose what to do.

He laughed a bit as he walked over, then crouched down to looked at Izaya, "Guess what, Flea," he saw Izaya flinch and cringe, "I hate violence."

He socked both the lackeys in the stomach and threw them at the same time, watching as they slammed into the wall opposite of them. He slowly turned to the one in charge.

He dropped Izaya and backed up, "What the fuck, Shizuo? You hate him! Why not finish him now?"

"Because I hate violence and assholes like you who cause it."

The boy backed up more, "I-I didn't mean anything by it… Y-You're bipolar and fucked up!"

"And you are a miserable, slimy fuck that messed with far too many people," Shizuo drew his arm back and socked the guy so hard in the chest that he heard and felt bones snapping. He went flying into the wall and groaned with his lackeys in pain.

Shizuo turned back to Izaya, who was still crumpled on the ground. He gently picked up the raven and cradled him in his arms, "Are you ok, Izaya?"

The other boy curled up in the strong arms of the blonde and nodded as an answer.

"Where are you hurt?"

He cringed and motioned to all over.

"Those bastards.. When are you going to start talking again?"

Four fingers were held up.

"4 o'clock?"

A nod.

Shizuo had walked out of the alley with Izaya and had started walking down another one, "So, you can't talk till then?"

Another nod.

"Even if I did this?" he jokingly pretended to drop the raven, who clung to him on instinct. "Clingy, aren't we?" he smirked and held Izaya close, causing the other to blush and hide his face.

Shizuo sat on a discarded love seat and settled down with Izaya on his lap. The raven fidgeted and tried to stop blushing, but couldn't get away.

The blonde-haired boy forced Izaya to look at him, "I still have 2minutes of you being silent. Let me enjoy it."

He loved the pout Izaya had on; it was one of his favorite facial expressions the raven had, besides the genuine smile he had caught a few times when Izaya was on the phone with his little sisters. He ran his finger over Izaya's protruding lip, then leaned in to kiss him right on the lips.

Izaya's eyes opened wide and he was shocked. At first, he didn't know what to do, but then he gave into the kiss willingly, his arms wrapping around Shizuo's neck. Shizuo slipped his arms around Izaya's waist and held him close as he deepened the kiss.

When they pulled back, Izaya's face was tinged pink and he panted softly.

"You still have one minute of silence left… Then we'll break the silence, as well as this love seat."
