This is a little poem about Chichiri, just a little sum-sumin' for all the Chichiri fans out there! It's about the whole Hikô thing (in case it wasn't clear)… :breaks out in sobs:
This is dedicated to my best friend Emily
Behind the Mask
I may look happy, but I'm not.
You can't see all the pain and suffering I've been through,
I'm always smiling for the world to see…
But they'll never understand.
Behind this mask lies a tortured soul of a misshapen past;
One that has only brought about sleepless nights.
The memories only haunt me day and night.
So much anger,
So much hatred,
All of it, too much at once.
It's funny how people can snap,
How they can just turn their backs for one second
And tragedy strikes.
I wish I could change the past
But I can't…
The past only shapes what makes me who I am.
It gives me reason to live
To keep going.
The past cannot be forgotten.
And I can't forget.
Underneath my mask lies a constant reminder of what happened…
And what I have done.
I can only pretend that it doesn't bother me,
That I am not affected by it.
But the truth:
I am.
I can only hide behind my mask of happiness
To try to hide these bottled-up emotions.
You can't see the pain behind the mask.
But behind it…
Lies the key to unlock me…
To set me free.
:No Da:
A/N: Well this was my first one-shot… I really hope I captured Chichiri's emotions in this. Let me know what you think!
