Umm, hello! Here's story that I had to do for Social Studies class. We had to make up a legend of how the United States of America was created. Read, review, and enjoy! :)

"No, America is my territory, and that's final!" Arthur glared at Francis across the table. A little blond haired child, who's name was Alfred sat between them. What were these two angry men fighting about? America, of course. The two men were fighting over the little boy between them, who represented America.

Of course, since both of their countries claimed ownership of America, and since they both hated each other's guts, it was inevitable that they would come to this argument. As America looked on, England and France had just leap out their seats and were currently trying to strangle each other.

"He's mine eyebrows!"

"No he's mi- WAIT, HOW DARE YOU DARE YOU INSULT MY EYEBROWS!" For England had very thick eyebrows indeed. Alfred giggled.

"SILENCE!" Thunder boomed out of nowhere, and the sky suddenly turned cloudy and dark. The two countries abruptly stopped fighting, and little Alfred shivered in fright.

Then there was a flash, and a young man stood on the table. He wore a slick suit, a fancy top hat, and shiny shoes. He wore glasses that had rectangular frames. In one hand hand he held a walking stick, and in the other, a straight flush of cards. In his pocket was a whole deck of playing cards. Terrified, America ran and hid under the table. England and France gaped at him.

"Who the heck are you?" England yelled at him. The strange man gave him a look.

"Get of the table and stop scaring poor America!" France cried. Well, that finally set the guy off.

He leaped off the table and pointed his cane to both men. "Well excuse me, but you two can't seem to last a minute without tearing at each other's throats. By the way, my name is Macau." He turned around dramatically, showing off his back. "And you two can't obviously settle on an agreement on this manner. So to make it easier, let's play a game of GO FISH! First one to put down their whole hand gets America."

England and Britain stared at the lunatic in front of them.

America had just crawled out from under the table. "I want to play!"

"Fine..."The two countries were suckers for the boy.

And so, with all three men plus a young boy seated around the table, they all started playing Go Fish. At first, things went a bit slow, but quickly heated up, with England and France slapping down pairs at every turn. Macau gave a distressed look to America.

"Seem's so boring, doesn't it little guy?" America noded. Macau's face turned into a mischievous grin. "Well then, let's make this more fun! BAM!" Immediately, America had almost all his pairs down, needing only a King of Hearts. Because England and France were too wrapped up in their own little competition, they failed to notice. Macau silently congratulated himself for a job well done in mischief.

"Hey England, do you have a King of Hearts?" Said person quickly shot his head up.

"What?...Umm, sure...here..." He passed one to America, who smiled and slapped down his pair.

"GO FISH!"

Of course, everyone in the room except for Macau started freaking out. "WHAT! What are you going to do! America can't own himself!" exclaimed France.

"Oh yes I can. I want to become an independent country!"

England looked desperately at Macau. "You said whoever won would get America. You have to keep your part of the deal!"

Macau flashed a grin at the two chumps in front of him. "And I will. Since America won, I guess I will have to make him an independent country."

"NO!"

"YES!"

And that is how America became an independent country, by winning a game of Go Fish.
