Bruce Wayne leaned against the railing of the balcony off the side of the ballroom. He had just wanted his birthday party to be with his mom and dad. But no; they had to go and throw him a big party with people he barely new. He was 8 years old today, but they listen to him as much as when he was a six year old. Bruce sighed; he was very tempted with the fact of telling them he had an IQ of 514. Although he new he wouldn't. He didn't want to be treated even more special then he already was. Shaking his head Bruce sighed again.

"Whatcha doing?" Bruce swiveled his head; around surprised someone else was out here. And there standing beside him was a girl his age, with long blond hair, and fair skin, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt she could probably get away with blending in to the sea of people in Gotham; something Bruce could never do. But the girls and blue-green eyes the twinkled with mischief. She was anything but normal.

"Who are you?" Bruce asks. He had so many cousins, ants and uncles he didn't know who everyone was. A small smirk formed on the girls lips, increasing the mischief in her eyes.

"So you really don't know?" she asked, her voice teasing. Bruce shook his head. "Well then I guess an interdiction is in order" curtsying in an invisible skirt she continued "My name is Eleanor Dove. I'm your 4th cousin twice removed. We've never actually met before" Bruce nodded; he had actually heard she was coming but he had never seen her before.

"Anyways what were you thinking about?"

"Nothing"

"Well that must be a cool trick to pull off"

"Trick, what trick?"

"You know the not thinking trick" Bruce looked at her more carefully 'was this girl serious?' Just as he finished the thought Ella let out a giggle.

"What's so funny?" Bruce demanded, he never did like getting laughed at. Failing to suppress another giggle, Ella answered.

"I'm sorry it was just that look of concentration on your face. It was so funny to see on an 8 year old"

"Oh? And how old would you be?" Ella smirked

"Well actually my birthday's today"

"And your 8 years old?"

"Yep"

"So were the same ages?"

"Yep"

"Does anyone know today is your birthday?"

"My parents do"

"Aren't you gonna have a party?"

"Not really." Ella must have seen the apparent shock on his face so she started to explain "You see I don't really like parties…"

"You; are; so; lucky." Bruce said. He would give anything to have a birthday without a party. Ella smiled

"You don't like parties either, do you?" It wasn't really a question but Bruce answered anyways.

"No I don't"
