Trapped forever, never out

Do you feel like this about life? That you would never seem to be able to get out from this sadness and never reach freedom, though its only a few steps away?

Hey! This is a poem my friend wrote. She's not on FF, so yeah… Dedicated to her, I guess.

Trapped forever, never out

Fluttering endlessly, in your cage

Trapped forever, like writing, in a page

Bound by the earth, by needle and thread

Always stuck, never allowed to tread

Looking around, yearning to be free

For me, the maiden, chained to the branches of this tree

Not allowed to wander and look

Only to sit patiently, gazing into the brook

Waiting, waiting as the sun drifts down from the sky

Back in the cage "When shall I die?"

I am confounded by the bars of this dreaded cage

It ensures me protection, and safely I must stay.
