Sandy's story
Looking at the sunset, a tear rolls down my cheek. I have everything, friends, family, people who love me (sometimes even too much) , an amazing job. I have everything. Except Aloe. So, reader, I will tell our story. A story of evil, love, adventure, and misadventure, and it
all started when I met my best friend.
I ran, across the perimeter of the waterhole, my long hair flowing behind me. I stopped at the cliff side and frantically moved a large boulder locking a space between the waterfall and a wall of bigger boulders.
I ran into the hide out, then I pushed the boulder back into place.
I sat down on a dry rock, staring at the wall of water in front of me. I surveyed the blurred shapes refracting off the waterfall, I could see teenagers jumping off rocks into the lake, My lake. "Look, I think I heard something." One of the teenagers slurred. As inebriated as
they were, there's no doubt they could find me. I could hear their footsteps coming closer. "Oh, boy." I thought aloud. I frantically searched for an escape away. I pulled away some of the large boulders, then I found it, a whole. Probably an underwater cave of some sort. I
held my breath and jumped. The silence pressed against my ears as I swam blindly through the dark water. I didn't know how much longer I could hold my breath what a horrible way to die drowning trying to escape a bunch of intoxicated teenagers!
I thought but then Isaw it. A shimmer of light, it was glowing an aqua green color. I Usually I would have pondered this. But I felt so overjoyed to see the light that I swam towards it. It was only when I reached the surface
that I realized that what I was in looking at was a girl holding a small ball of light. (I mean she was actually holding light! and thelastime I had checked, you can't hold energy, it's just not possible. I mean lifting 300 pounds is one thing, but holding light?). The girl who was
holding the light (which had now went out) belonged to looked at me. She had blue eyes, a friendly smile, and long blond hair.
We both looked at each other. There was a long awkward silence. The girl finally broke the silence by saying, "Hi, my name is Aloe, what's yours?" "My name is Sandy." I replied still stunned by her ability to hold light. The girl helped me out of the hole. I saw my reflection,
in the water. My purple tank top, my tan shoulders, round face, and brown eyes. My eyes were my favorite physical feature. I wasn't vain, but I decided to pick one physical feature I liked about myself to keep from feeling self-conscious. Aloe, looked sideways at me. I
looked back then Aloe suddenly and slowly said, "So…whatcha been thinkin' of the weather lately." We then burst out laughing.
