His dark hair veiled his face. Too many thoughts flooded and escaped his mind. He was torn apart. Should he listen to his head or should he listen to his heart? The basic question.
She watched him silently. She watched as his hands clenched and then went limp. She heard his sighs of desperation and hisses of plain frustration. She did just that.
Watched him.
Waited ……. and Hoped.
Funny thing was, she couldn't decide whether it was worth waiting anymore. She wanted to scream, shake him, make him make up his mind.
'Dammit, Jake, what do you want?'
He knew she was the centre of his existence. His life. And he hers. That was the way it was supposed to be, right? Destiny, Fate, and all the other crap.
But, he just couldn't get her out of his head. And being able to read her mind wasn't helping one bit. She had excellent control over her thoughts, he had to give her that. Yet…
'Thanks Dad!' she thought furiously, despite her poker face. 'I knew it. Way before you guessed.' Her brown eyes left his face and her gaze fell to the ground.
'Jake, please…'
