Midnight Kiss

Summary: "Women are such a drag…" Shikamaru Nara's mind was about to be changed, forever. Ever since he was dating Temari, New Year's was going to be his one new challenge.
Shikamaru stood on the dance floor, slow dancing with his one true love, Temari. He had even dressed nice for the occasion. New Year's. He realized kissing at midnight was not rocket science, but it sure felt like it. He had eaten about fifty mints, and tried to keep his sweating down to a minimal.
Five seconds 'till midnight…
Shikamaru heard the countdown. Temari was smiling at him, her arms wrapped around his neck.
Four seconds 'till midnight…
He hoped his breath smelled alright.
Three seconds 'till midnight…
He leaned in to her, she smelled like spring. Fresh flowers.
Two seconds 'till midnight…
Her eyes closed, leaning into him. Their lips brushed.
One…
As fireworks went off all around Konoha, Shikamaru and Temari's lips met, tongues swirling in each others' mouth. They pulled away.
"Temari—"
"Shikamaru—"
"I love you so much, happy new year!" They finished together.
