Welcome Back, Static

Chapter 1

Ah, DC Comics Central, where all the DC comics characters reside inside the Comics Realm, a top secret world hidden from the outside meaning our world.

You see, DC Comics Central is a universe where all comic characters have gained sentience and are thus self aware of the things occurring in our world. As one would have guessed, everyone isn't too very thrilled with how their comic status are looking, thanks to another so called update. But don't fret, everyone else is very chipper, optimistic and always bright eyed. Well, except for a cantankerous grouch dressed as a bat.

Anyway, it was a typical day as usual as our band of central characters stood at the sidewalk as usual. Supergirl, Black Canary, Huntress, Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, and Lady Blackhawk

"ah, just another beautiful morning out in this glorious city. Isn't life grand?" Kara said optimistically, taking a swig of her Mello Yello

"yea, it sure is. You know, our world just keeps growing and growing. Heck, if it weren't for that Snyder guy, we'd be stuck here forever!" Kyle added, everyone fondly remembering that fateful day in 2013, when radical director Zack Snyder resurrected the DC Comics movie franchise after the disastrous year that was 1997

"Hey, isn't Static supposed to be coming home today?" Kara piped up, that piquing everyone else's interest. Virgil Hawkins aka Static has been a longtime resident until he was assigned to the Comic Book Corps to fight in the war against Khandaq and Qward. After several lengthy days of no communication, no mail and no texts, the war had ended in lieu of a peace treaty, and Virgil had tweeted everyone with the announcement of his homecoming.

Little did Virgil know how much his hometown had changed during his tour of duty. After all, the war began after the WB Animation department collapsed by the greed and negligence of the Nielsen family, so you could imagine Virgil's depression and his need to enter the war

Anyway, after five minutes, Virgil himself walked out the double doors of the DCU Airlines, happy to be home at last. But in just a matter of pure timing, Virgil's facial expressions went from joy to sudden confusion as he gazed at how much the neighborhood has evolved. After a few seconds of gaping, what came out of his mouth were just the words that seemed to describe the situation he was in

"I've been away from home too long" Virgil said in amazement, as he hailed a taxi and got in, en route to the Little Bohemia Boardwalk

Meanwhile, when we last saw our central group, they were engaged in jovial conversation and excited chatter. Now they were snoring and loitering lazily, either having gotten dehydrated or just bored after waiting for Virgil's plane to land. But it wasn't until the honking of a cab had erupted that awakened our merry band of compatriots

"Hey! Virgil's back!" Kara cheered loud enough for everyone to hear, everyone hoisting Virgil onto their hands in a loud victory cheer. Yes, things definitely are going good for our friend Static. But amidst the cheering and joy, a few questions were worming around in his mind; what's happened? What sort of events did he miss? Who's the new President? And more importantly of all; what's happened to his fiancé Teresa? All will be revealed in the next chapter
